Role Overview

Virgin Atlantic is seeking highly motivated First Officers and Senior First Officers to join its flight operations team. Operating from Heathrow, successful candidates will fly some of the world's most technologically advanced aircraft, including the A330 Neo and A350-1000, across an exclusively long-haul network.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional aircraft handling ability, extensive procedural and technical knowledge, and strong leadership skills. Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering consistent operational excellence and maintaining high safety standards.
  • Demonstrating outstanding human factors in all flight operations.
  • Making values-based decisions both in the air and on the ground.
  • Contributing to a high-performing team culture with a drive toward future command.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Flight Experience: Minimum of 1,500 hours for First Officer or 3,000 hours for Senior First Officer on a multi-pilot turbojet or turbo-prop aircraft (MTOM not less than 10 tonnes or seating capacity over 19 passengers).
  • Type Rating: Current and qualified on A320, A330, A340, A350, or A380.
  • Licensing: Unfrozen ATPL issued by the UK CAA with a valid type rating upon joining.
  • Medical: Must hold a current UK Class One Medical.
  • Language Proficiency: High level of English proficiency, certified as ICAO Level 6.
  • Military Applicants: Previous experience required on C17 Globemaster, A330 Voyager, Poseidon, A400M Atlas, RC-135, Wedgetail AEW, or Envoy IV.
