Competitive Remuneration
- A starting salary of £78,000 is provided, supplemented by allowances of approximately £14,332 per annum (based on 800 flying hours).
- Upon successful completion of the command course, salary increases to £115,460 plus allowances circa £25,148, with potential for annual incremental pay uplifts on a 15-point scale.

Essential Requirements
Prospective candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered for this aviation role:
- Hold a current UK-issued CAA Flight Crew Licence (ATPL(A), fATPL(A), MPL) or hold an EASA licence and satisfy the UK CAA's “Third Country CPL and ATPL licence conversion requirements” (routes 3, 4, 5, or 6).
- Possess a minimum of 2500 hours total flying time (subject to factorisation). Applicants are required to include a breakdown of flying hours in their application.
- Hold the legal right to live and work in the UK.
- Meet height requirements, typically between 1.57m (5’2”) and 1.91m (6’3”). Pilots taller than 1.91m may apply but will need to undergo a functionality check to confirm their ability to meet seating position requirements in the fleet.
- Demonstrate a good level of physical fitness.
- Achieve ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 6 (spoken and written).
- Hold a valid passport with a minimum of 12 months validity remaining from the contract start date.
- Possess a valid Class 1 medical certificate with a minimum of 6 months validity remaining from the contract start date.
Application Information
Candidates who are unsuccessful at the initial screening, video interview, capacity testing, or assessment centre stages are eligible to reapply for the pilot recruitment campaign after a period of 6 months from their most recent assessment date. Candidates unsuccessful at the simulator stage must wait 12 months before re-applying.
Applicants may only apply to one airline within the British Airways family (British Airways, Euroflyer, or Cityflyer) concurrently. Should an application be unsuccessful, reapplication to any of the three airlines is subject to the specified re-apply period having elapsed.
Successful candidates will be placed into a hold pool. Candidates in the hold pool may receive a maximum of two job offers. Declining a second job offer will result in exiting the hold pool, requiring reapplication after 12 months and completion of the full selection process again.
Candidates who previously applied to the British Airways Short Haul A320 campaign and wish to be considered for the Aspiration for Command campaign should make appropriate contact with the recruitment team.
