Candidate Profile: Essential Qualifications and Experience
Prospective candidates must meet stringent requirements, demonstrating extensive flight experience and adherence to aviation regulatory standards. The successful applicant will possess:
- Flight Experience: A minimum of 2500 hours "in type" is essential, coupled with a current and valid type rating relevant to Aer Lingus' fleet. A valid Licence Proficiency Check (LPC) must be maintained and current upon commencement of employment.
- Licensing & Qualifications: A Frozen Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL), Instrument Rating (IR), and Multi-Engine (ME) endorsement are mandatory. Applicants must hold a valid UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) license.
- Medical & Language: A valid Class 1 Medical Certificate and an ICAO English Language Proficiency (ELP) Level 5 are required.
- Work Eligibility: Candidates must possess unrestricted eligibility to live and work in the United Kingdom.
- International Travel: A valid passport allowing unrestricted worldwide travel is a prerequisite. The ability to apply for and obtain all relevant US immigration and entry visas is a mandatory requirement for the role, facilitating travel to and from the United States.
- Operational Readiness: The role demands significant operational flexibility, including the ability to report for duty within 120 minutes when on standby. Flexibility and adaptability to working shifts, unsociable hours, weekends, holidays, and overnights are crucial.
- Security & Background: Successful applicants must be able to pass a comprehensive airport security vetting procedure, including a five-year background check.
