Role Summary

British Airways is seeking experienced military pilots to join their team as Direct Entry Pilots through the Military Pilot Pathway program. About the Role

As a Direct Entry Pilot with British Airways, the primary focus is on delivering an exceptional flight experience for every passenger. Pilots will operate on the airline's Airbus fleet for short-haul operations or, depending on experience, join one of the long-haul fleets. The role is dynamic, offering daily challenges and the opportunity for continuous career development, including potential progression to command on short-haul routes.

Requirements

Previous military (or equivalent) flying experience within the last 3 years (fixed wing or rotary).
Height between 1.57m (5'2") and 1.91m (6'3"). Applicants taller than 1.91m will undergo a functionality check.
Good level of physical fitness and ability to meet British Airways medical requirements.
ICAO English Language Proficiency level 6.
Valid passport with a minimum of 12 months remaining before expiry at the time of joining, allowing unrestricted worldwide travel.
Tattoos are permissible if not on the hands, face, or head.
UK CAA Class 1 flight crew medical (Military A1 status is acceptable for application, but UK CAA Class 1 must be achieved before a job offer).
Right to live and work in the UK.
Meet the criteria of QMP as defined in CAP 2254.
Started ATPL groundschool and be confident in completing an fATPL(A) within 18 months of application.

Qualifications

Short-haul Fleet

Minimum of 500 hours of flying time on any military type.
Ability to achieve an fATPL(A) and MCC (or exemption) by the date of joining.

Long-haul Fleets

Minimum of 1500 hours of military flying time.
Of the 1500 hours, 500 hours or 100 sectors must be completed on a ZFTT qualifying aircraft.
Ability to achieve an unfrozen ATPL(A) and MCC (or exemption) by the date of joining.
