British Airways is Seeking Direct Entry Pilots for Long-Haul Fleets
British Airways, the UK's flag carrier, is currently seeking experienced and highly motivated Direct Entry Pilots to join its prestigious long-haul fleets. As a Direct Entry Pilot, the individual will play a critical role in providing a world-class flight experience for passengers, upholding the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of aircraft while delivering exceptional customer service. The role offers a dynamic career path with diverse opportunities for professional growth within British Airways. Pilots will have the opportunity to transfer to one of the four long-haul fleets or remain on the short-haul fleet and advance to Captain. A wide variety of roles outside of flying, from training to pilot recruitment, are also available.
Responsibilities:
- Provide the best possible flight experience for all passengers.
- Operate aircraft safely and efficiently, adhering to all company and regulatory standards.
- Maintain the highest levels of professionalism and customer service.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Current UK-issued CAA Flight Crew Licence ATPL (A), fATPL (A), MPL, or hold an EASA licence and meet the "Third Country CPL and ATPL licence conversion requirements" set out by the UK CAA (route 3, 4, 5 or 6).
- Valid Class 1 medical certificate.
- Height between 1.57m (5'2") and 1.91m (6'3"). Pilots taller than 1.91m may be required to undergo a functionality check.
- Good level of physical fitness.
- ICAO Level 6 proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Valid passport with a minimum of 12 months validity.
Additional Criteria:
- Hold a UK Part-FCL ATPL (or meet the criteria to upgrade to an ATPL during the type rating).
- Or, hold an EASA licence and meet the "Third Country CPL and ATPL licence conversion requirements" set out by the UK CAA (route 3, 4, 5 or 6).
- To be considered for a long-haul position, applicants must possess a minimum of 1500 hours on an aircraft type that satisfies ZFTT and have flown this type within the last 12 months.
