This position is for a Direct Entry Pilot - First Officer, assigned to long-haul fleets. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing a world-class flight experience for passengers. He will be challenged daily to perform to the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.
Career progression at British Airways is flexible and tailored to individual aspirations. While initial assignment will be to the short-haul Airbus fleet, opportunities exist to transfer to one of the four long-haul fleets or to advance to Captain on short-haul routes. Qualifications and Experience:
- Current UK-issued CAA Flight Crew Licence ATPL(A), fATPL(A), MPL or hold an EASA licence and meet the "Third Country CPL and ATPL licence conversion requirements" set out by the UK CAA (route 3, 4, 5 or 6).
- Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- Height between 1.57m (5'2") and 1.91m (6'3"). (Pilots exceeding 1.91m may be subject to a functionality check).
- Good level of physical fitness.
- Spoken and written English ICAO Level 6 proficiency.
- Valid passport (minimum 12 months validity).
Additional Requirements:
- Pilots holding an EASA licence who previously held a UK Part-FCL licence should provide a copy of their previous UK licence or proof of UK-based training and license award.
- Preference may be given to candidates holding a current rating on specific aircraft types, with fleet moves processed internally based on seniority.
Minimum Criteria to Apply:
- Hold a UK Part-FCL ATPL (or meet the criteria to upgrade to an ATPL during the type rating).
- or
- Hold an EASA licence and meet the "Third Country CPL and ATPL licence conversion requirements" set out by the UK CAA (route 3, 4, 5 or 6).
- To be considered for BA Euroflyer, at the time of submitting your online application you must have a minimum of 500 hours or 100 sectors on an aircraft type that satisfies ZFTT.
- To be considered for British Airways short-haul, at the time of submitting your online application you must have a minimum 500 hours on the A320 and flown this type in the last 12 months.
- To be considered for a long-haul position, at the time of submitting your online application you must have more than 1500 hours on an aircraft type that satisfies ZFTT and flown this type in the last 12 months.
