British Airways Direct Entry Pilot - First Officer (Long Haul Fleets)

Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Current UK-issued CAA Flight Crew Licence ATPL(A), fATPL(A), MPL, or an EASA licence meeting the UK CAA's "Third Country CPL and ATPL licence conversion requirements" (route 3, 4, 5, or 6).
- Class 1 medical certificate.
- Height between 1.57m (5’2”) and 1.91m (6’3”). Pilots taller than 1.91m may be required to undergo a functionality check.
- Good level of physical fitness.
- Spoken and written English proficiency at ICAO level 6.
- Valid passport with a minimum of 12 months before the expiry date.
- Applicants who currently hold an EASA license and previously held a UK Part-FCL license should upload a copy of their previous UK license or proof of UK training and license award.
Minimum Criteria to Apply:
- Hold a UK Part-FCL ATPL (or meet the criteria to upgrade to an ATPL during your type rating)
or
- Hold an EASA licence and meet the “Third Country CPL and ATPL licence conversion requirements” set out by the UK CAA (route 3, 4, 5 or 6).
- To be considered for BA Euroflyer, at the time of submitting your online application you must have a minimum of 500 hours or 100 sectors on an aircraft type that satisfies ZFTT.
- To be considered for British Airways short-haul, at the time of submitting your online application you must have a minimum 500 hours on the A320 and flown this type in the last 12 months.
- To be considered for a long-haul position, at the time of submitting your online application you must have more than 1500 hours on an aircraft type that satisfies ZFTT and flown this type in the last 12 months.
Job Details:
- Job offers will predominantly be made for the A320 and Boeing 777 (777 pilots operate out of LHR and LGW*; 777 pilots will also operate the Boeing 777X when it enters service).
- A limited number of vacancies exist on other fleets, with preference given to those that hold a current rating on the aircraft type.
- Moves to other fleets will be processed via the internal fleet move system and awarded on a seniority basis.
*Hotel accommodation can be requested and will be provided for 777 LGW flights on the day before duty and a day room after landing, if the flight duty period is over 8 hours and is not a positioning sector.
Important Information:
- Candidates unsuccessful at initial screening, video interview, capacity testing, or assessment center stages can reapply after 6 months from their most recent assessment date. Candidates unsuccessful at the SIM stage must wait 12 months.
- Applicants may only apply to one airline within the British Airways family (British Airways, Euroflyer, or Cityflyer) at a time.
- Long-haul suitability will be assessed during simulator assessment; however, A320 remains the primary recruiting fleet.
- Successful candidates will enter a hold pool and receive a maximum of two job offers.
