Job Description
As a Flight Attendant with United Airlines, you will be an integral part of the largest airline globally, experiencing unparalleled growth and the unique opportunity to see the world while on duty. United provides comprehensive training, eliminating the need for prior specialized schooling or a college degree. The journey begins with an immersive 6.5-week Initial Training program in Houston, Texas, focusing on United's stringent safety and service standards. Upon successful completion, you will be assigned to one of United's seven major hubs, including Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco, and Washington Dulles, or other designated base locations. While in training, United provides a stipend of $140 per week, complimentary dual-occupancy hotel accommodations, and daily meals.

Compensation and Benefits:
- Starting hourly pay of $28.88, with potential to reach $67.11 per hour based on seniority.

Onboarding and Training:
- Trainees must successfully complete a water evacuation drill.
- Pre-employment requirements include a DOT drug screen, background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
- Compliance with DOT/FAA drug screen policies, including prohibitions on marijuana use, is mandatory due to the safety-sensitive nature of the role.
- A comprehensive 10-year background check is required, ensuring eligibility for international travel. Specific restrictions apply for certain countries (e.g., Canada for DWI/DUI offenses).
- Meeting Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) hearing and vision requirements is essential.
- Successful training graduates receive a $1,000 bonus.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age at the time of application.
- High school graduate or GED required; 2+ years of college preferred.
- At least one year of customer service experience in the service industry (e.g., retail, hospitality, aviation, education).
- Ability to speak clearly, concisely, and loudly enough to be heard in emergencies.
- Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
- Fluent in Hebrew (speaking, reading, writing).
- Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
- Effective communication skills in high-stress situations.
- Professional appearance and grooming standards, adhering to uniform, hair, tattoo, and piercing guidelines. Tattoos must not be on the head, hands, or neck; visible tattoos on arms, wrists, legs, and feet must be within specified size limits and not offensive. Decorative dental adornments are not permitted.
- Proficiency in operating electronic devices.
- Valid passport with at least 18 months of remaining validity at the time of application. Must possess a current passport book (not an application or renewal) with eligibility for unrestricted global travel.
- Ability to travel to and from all countries served by United without restrictions.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, kneeling, bending, stooping, stretching, reaching, lifting heavy objects (up to overhead bins), and pushing/pulling a beverage cart (up to 250 lbs).
- Successful completion of a functional reach assessment (76-inch vertical, 43.5-inch horizontal reach and hold).
- Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Willingness and ability to serve and/or sell food and beverages, including alcohol.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule supporting United's 24/7 operation, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
