About the Role
The Supervisor, Inflight Services plays a pivotal role in supporting and engaging a diverse team of flight attendants. This position cultivates trust with flight crew members, collaborates with operational teams to deliver exceptional customer service, and embodies the company's Core4 values. The supervisor inspires flight attendants to provide high-quality onboard experiences, recognizes exemplary service, and resolves issues to ensure operational success and adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Inspire flight attendants to deliver a high-quality onboard experience and drive improvement in Net Promoter Score (NPS).
- Recognize flight attendants for exemplary service, teamwork, and performance.
- Assist flight attendants at the Concierge Desk and resolve issues promptly.
- Exercise core values to provide local support and care for flight attendants during Inflight incidents.
- Oversee flight attendant team performance in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
- Conduct investigations regarding performance, complaints, or other work-related issues.
- Communicate corporate initiatives, policy changes, and procedural updates to the flight attendant team.
- Oversee the delivery of new inflight products as determined by the Flight Experience team.
- Ensure daily compliance with company goals, policies, and procedures.
- Coordinate with customer service and the Station Operations Center (SOC) for operational success.
- Ensure safety goals are met and FAA regulatory requirements are consistently adhered to by the team.
- Engage positively with team members and other work groups to achieve common goals.
- Participate in planeside briefings and provide flight attendants with necessary tools and resources.
- Share customer feedback and escalate issues that may impact service delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience.
- Required to attend United's flight attendant training to earn FAA certification if not currently flight qualified.
- 2+ years of experience in an operations or fast-paced business environment, or successful completion of a company-sponsored training program.
- Experience leading teams and delivering customer service.
- DOT Safety Sensitive Position.
- Ability to work on-site, including weekends and holidays.
- Exceptional planning and organizational skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Positive attitude and ability to adapt to a constantly changing work environment.
- Demonstrated conflict resolution and decision-making capabilities.
- Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
- Successful completion of an interview.
- Reliable and punctual attendance.
- Requirement to obtain and maintain flight qualifications through Inflight Training.
- Adherence to appearance standards for the flight attendant workgroup, including specific guidelines for hair, makeup, and tattoos (tattoos not permitted on the head, neck, or hands, including behind the ear).
- Ability to pass a functional reach assessment with a combined 76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal reach (simultaneous), without shoes on.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Inflight Service, travel industry, or hospitality leadership experience.
- Experience supervising a unionized workgroup.
Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is $80,100.00 to $97,900.00. This range is dependent on job-related factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
