United Airlines is expanding its world-class team and invites ambitious individuals to join as Flight Attendants. This dynamic role offers the unique opportunity to explore the globe while providing unparalleled service and ensuring the utmost safety for passengers. United, the world's largest airline, provides comprehensive training and a supportive environment for career growth. This position does not require a college degree; all necessary training is provided by United.

Your Journey with United

United's commitment to its employees begins with industry-leading Flight Attendant training. A rigorous 6.5-week Initial Training program is conducted in Houston, TX, focusing on United's stringent safety and service standards. Upon successful completion, trainees are assigned to one of United's seven major hubs or other designated bases. Relocation funds are not provided. United supports trainees with a weekly stipend of $140, complimentary dual-occupancy hotel accommodations, and two meals per day during training. Graduates receive a $1,000 bonus upon successful completion of training and base orientation.

Compensation and Benefits

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age at the time of application.
  • High school diploma or GED required; two or more years of college education preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of customer service experience within the service industry (e.g., retail, hospitality, education, aviation).
  • Fluent in English, with clear, concise, and organized verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent in Dutch (speaking, reading, writing, and understanding).
  • Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
  • Effective communication skills in high-stress situations.
  • Professional appearance and adherence to grooming, uniform, hair, tattoo, and piercing guidelines. (Specific restrictions apply to visible tattoos and oral adornments).
  • Proficiency in operating electronic devices.
  • Valid U.S. passport book or equivalent foreign passport with at least 18 months of remaining validity at the time of application. Passport must be in good condition and allow unrestricted global travel.
  • Ability to travel to and from all countries served by United without restriction.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the role, including standing, walking, kneeling, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling (e.g., beverage carts up to 250 lbs.), and meeting specific reach assessments.
  • Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
  • Willingness and ability to serve and/or sell food and beverages, including alcohol.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule supporting United's 24/7 operations.
  • Successful completion of an in-water evacuation drill during training.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment DOT drug screening, background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
  • Compliance with DOT/FAA regulations regarding drug and alcohol testing; marijuana (medical or recreational) is prohibited.
  • Pass a 10-year background check; background must permit entry into all countries United serves (e.g., DWI/DUI convictions may impact travel eligibility to Canada).
  • Meet FAA and United Airlines hearing and vision requirements.
