Your Journey Begins: Comprehensive Training

United's Flight Attendant training program spans 6.5 weeks at our Houston, TX facility. Trainees will master United's stringent safety and service standards. Upon successful completion, a base assignment will be allocated among our seven major hubs: Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco, or Washington Dulles, among other locations. Please note, relocation funds are not provided. Training includes a stipend of $140 per week, dual-occupancy hotel accommodations, and daily meals.

Onboarding and Training Expectations

  • Successful completion of an in-water evacuation drill during training.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment DOT drug screening, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
  • Ability to pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens. Medical and recreational marijuana use is prohibited.
  • Ability to pass a 10-year background check, ensuring no travel restrictions to any United destination (e.g., DWI/DUI offenses may impact entry to certain countries like Canada).
  • Meet Federal Aviation Administration and United Airlines hearing and vision requirements (e.g., hearing loss no greater than 40 dB averaged at 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz; each eye 20/40 or better corrected).
