Role Description
As a Flight Attendant, the employee serves as a primary representative of the airline, prioritizing passenger safety and delivering outstanding customer service. The role involves creating a welcoming and secure environment onboard, attending to passenger needs, and responding effectively to various situations. This highly desired position does not require specific prior schooling or a college degree, as comprehensive training is provided directly by the airline.
Comprehensive Training Program
The journey to becoming a Flight Attendant begins with extensive industry-leading training. Trainees will attend a 6.5-week initial training program in Houston, TX, focused on mastering safety protocols and service standards. Upon successful completion of training, a base location will be assigned from one of the major hubs or other flight attendant bases (relocation funds are not provided). Following training and base orientation, individuals transition to full-time employee status. During the initial training period, a weekly stipend, dual occupancy hotel accommodations, and daily meals are provided.

Compensation and Benefits
Employees receive a competitive compensation package and exceptional benefits. The starting hourly flight pay is $28.88, with the potential to reach $67.11 per hour at the top of the base scale. Pay increases are seniority-based, and additional compensation is available for qualifications such as language skills, lead positions, and international trips. The position is also eligible for bonuses, including profit sharing.

Qualifications and Requirements
Prospective Flight Attendants must meet the following qualifications and requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
- Requires a high school diploma or GED; two or more years of college education are preferred.
- Requires at least one year of customer service experience in the service industry (e.g., retail, hospitality, food service, teaching/education, aviation, social service).
- Must be able to speak clearly, concisely, and in an organized manner, projecting the voice sufficiently to be heard in emergencies.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently is required.
- Ability to speak, read, and write Greek fluently is required.
- Must possess the ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
- Must be capable of communicating effectively in high-stress situations, including aircraft evacuation, security threats, delays, medical emergencies, severe weather conditions, and turbulence.
- Must maintain a professional appearance and adhere to excellent grooming standards, complying with uniform, hair, tattoo, and piercing guidelines.
- Tattoos are not permitted on the head, hands, or neck (including behind the ear).
- Visible tattoos on arms, wrists, legs, and feet are permitted but must not exceed credit card size (approximately 3.5 x 2.24 inches) unless covered by standard uniform pieces.
- Visible tattoos must not be offensive (e.g., violent, obscene, sexual, racist, objectionable content, or containing imagery of weapons).
- Decorative covers, adornments, or jewelry on or in the mouth are not permitted.
- Must be proficient in operating electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops, etc.) necessary for job duties.
- Must possess a valid passport book prior to application with at least 18 months of remaining validity.
- Must have physical possession of a valid U.S. passport book or foreign passport book with applicable visas, granting eligibility for unrestricted global travel as a working crew member to all countries the airline serves. The passport must be in good condition. Applying for or awaiting a renewed passport does not meet this requirement; possession is mandatory before training commences.
- Must be capable of standing, walking, kneeling, bending, stooping, stretching, reaching, lifting heavy objects (such as luggage to the overhead bin or window exit), and pushing/pulling a beverage cart (up to 250 lbs.).
- Ability to pass a functional reach assessment with a combined 76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch simultaneous reach (without shoes) is required for operating necessary equipment and doors.
- Must be able to sit securely in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Is required to serve and/or sell food and beverages (including alcohol) in a diligent and professional manner.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule supporting the airline's 24/7 operation, including weekdays, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
Onboarding and Training Process Requirements
Candidates must successfully complete specific requirements during the onboarding and training process:
- Successful completion of a water evacuation drill in a pool during training is mandatory.
- Must be willing to undergo pre-employment DOT drug screening, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
- Must pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens. Medical and recreational marijuana use is prohibited due to the safety-sensitive nature of the Flight Attendant position.
- Must pass a 10-year background check, including criminal history, ensuring eligibility for unrestricted travel to all destinations served. Certain convictions, such as DWI/DUI within the last 10 years, may require a Temporary Resident Permit (TRP) from the Canadian government to travel to and from Canada as a working crew member if one is not already secured.
- Must meet specific hearing and vision requirements established by the Federal Aviation Administration and the airline, with or without reasonable accommodation. This includes not having hearing loss in the better ear greater than 40 dB (averaged at 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz) and having 20/40 or better corrected vision in each eye for both far and near distances.
