Role Overview

Comprehensive Training Program
Successful candidates will undergo 6.5 weeks of intensive Initial Training in Houston, TX. This program focuses on mastering the airline's safety protocols and service standards. Upon successful completion of training and base orientation, individuals will become full-time employees. During training, a weekly stipend of $140 is provided, along with dual occupancy hotel accommodations and two meals per day (breakfast and either lunch or dinner, dependent on schedule). Trainees will be assigned a base location at one of the airline's hubs in Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco, Washington Dulles, or other flight attendant bases (relocation funds are not provided).
Required Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
- Possess a high school diploma or GED; two or more years of college education are preferred.
- Hold at least one year of customer service experience in a service-oriented industry (e.g., retail, hospitality, food service, teaching/education, aviation, social service).
- Ability to speak clearly, concisely, and in an organized manner, with sufficient volume to be heard in emergency situations.
- Must be fluent in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English.
- Must be fluent in speaking and reading Greek.
- Possess the ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
- Ability to communicate effectively in high-stress situations such as aircraft evacuations, security threats, delays, medical emergencies, severe weather, and turbulence.
- Maintain a professional appearance with excellent grooming standards, adhering to uniform, hair, tattoo, and piercing guidelines.
- Tattoos are not permitted on the head, hands, or neck (including behind the ear). Visible tattoos on arms, wrists, legs, and feet are permitted if they do not exceed the size of a credit card/employee badge (3.5 inches long x 2.24 inches wide) or can be covered by standard uniform pieces. Visible tattoos must not contain offensive content.
- Decorative covers, adornments, and jewelry on or in the mouth are not permitted.
- Ability to proficiently operate electronic devices such as phones, tablets, and laptops for required tasks.
- Must possess a valid passport prior to application, with at least 18 months of validity remaining at the time of application. Physical possession of a valid U.S. or foreign passport book with applicable visas is required for global travel without restrictions.
- Ability to travel to and from all countries served by the airline as a working crew member.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects (e.g., luggage to overhead bin or window exit), and push/pull beverage carts (up to 250 lbs.).
- Ability to pass a functional reach assessment demonstrating a combined 76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal reach and hold (simultaneous), without shoes.
- Ability to sit securely in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule supporting a 24/7 operation, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Onboarding and Training Requirements
- Successful completion of a water evacuation drill during training is mandatory.
- Must pass a pre-employment DOT drug screen, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
- Ability to pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens. Medical and recreational marijuana use is prohibited due to the safety-sensitive nature of the position.
- Ability to pass a 10-year background check, including criminal history. The background must not prohibit travel to countries served by the airline. Candidates with DWI/DUI convictions or probation within the last 10 years should be aware of strict travel restrictions to certain countries like Canada and must possess necessary permits before starting training.
- Must meet FAA and airline hearing and vision requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation.
