Position Summary

As a Flight Attendant, one becomes an integral part of a dynamic team exceeding 28,000 active professionals. Representing one of the world's largest airlines with the most expansive network, this role is highly sought after for its unique blend of service, safety, and global travel opportunities. No prior special schooling or college degree is mandated, as comprehensive training is provided directly by the airline.

Initial Training & Onboarding

The journey commences with industry-leading Flight Attendant training, spanning 6.5 weeks in Houston, TX. Trainees will master essential safety protocols and service standards. Upon entry into training, each individual is assigned a base location at one of the airline's major hubs or other Flight Attendant base locations (note: relocation funds are not provided). Successful completion of training and subsequent base orientation officially welcomes individuals as full-time employees. During the training period, trainees receive a weekly stipend of $140, alongside dual occupancy hotel accommodations, breakfast, and one additional meal daily (lunch or dinner), depending on the training schedule. A $1,000 bonus is awarded upon successful graduation from training.

Qualifications & Requirements

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
  • Possess a high school diploma or GED; two or more years of college are preferred.
  • Have at least one year of customer service experience within the service industry (e.g., retail, hospitality, food service, teaching/education, aviation, social service).
  • Be able to speak in a clear, concise, and organized manner, with sufficient volume to be heard in emergency situations.
  • Be able to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
  • Be able to speak, read, write, and understand Hebrew fluently.
  • Be able to hear all types and ranges of sound.
  • Effectively communicate in high-stress situations, such as aircraft evacuation, security threats, delays, medical emergencies, severe weather, and turbulence.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and excellent grooming standards, adhering to uniform, hair, tattoo, and piercing guidelines. Tattoos are not permitted on the head, hands, or neck (including behind the ear). Visible tattoos on arms, wrists, legs, and feet are permissible if they are no larger than a credit card (3.5 inches x 2.24 inches) or can be covered by standard uniform pieces. Visible tattoos must not be offensive (including but not limited to violent, obscene, sexual, racist content or imagery containing weapons). Decorative covers, adornments, or jewelry on teeth or in the mouth are not permitted.
  • Be able to proficiently operate electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops, etc.) required for job duties.
  • Possess a valid passport prior to application, with at least 18 months of validity remaining. Physical possession of a valid U.S. passport book or foreign passport book with applicable visas is required to travel globally without restrictions. The passport book must be in good condition. Having applied for or waiting for a renewed passport is not sufficient to meet this requirement.
  • Be able to travel to and from all countries served by the airline without any restrictions. Flight attendant applicants are responsible for identifying and verifying their travel eligibility, as they must be able to enter and exit these locations as a working crew member.
  • Be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects (such as luggage into overhead bins or toward window exits), and push and pull a beverage cart (up to 250 lbs).
  • Be able to pass a functional reach assessment with a combined 76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal reach and hold (simultaneous), without shoes, to operate necessary equipment, machinery, and doors.
  • Be able to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
  • Be required to serve and/or sell food and beverages (including alcohol) in a diligent and professional manner.
  • Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Be willing and able to work a flexible schedule supporting a 24/7 operation, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Onboarding and Training Expectations

Selected candidates will:

  • Successfully complete a water evacuation drill during training.
  • Be willing to complete a pre-employment DOT drug screen, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
  • Be able to pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens. Medical and recreational marijuana use is prohibited due to the safety-sensitive nature of the position.
  • Be able to pass a 10-year background check, including criminal history. The background must not prohibit travel to or from any destination served by the airline. For instance, candidates with a DWI/DUI conviction or probation within the last 10 years may require a Temporary Resident Permit (TRP) from the Canadian government to travel to and from Canada for work duties.
  • Meet FAA and airline hearing and vision requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, including average hearing loss not exceeding 40 dB in the better ear at 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz, and corrected vision of 20/40 or better for both far and near vision in each eye.

  • Starting Pay: The starting hourly flight pay is $28.88, with the top of the base scale reaching $67.11 per hour. Pay increases are seniority-based, with additional compensation for language skills, lead positions, and international trips.
