Due to the comprehensive route network, flexibility is paramount. Flight Attendants must be available for assignments 24/7, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours. This includes fulfilling reserve assignments on short notice and being away from base locations for multiple days. Dependability and punctuality are critical to maintaining operational schedules and meeting customer expectations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
• Possess a high school diploma or GED; two or more years of college are preferred.
• Hold at least one year of customer service experience in a service industry setting (e.g., retail, hospitality, food service, education, aviation, social service).
• Ability to speak clearly, concisely, and loudly enough to be heard in emergency situations.
• Fluent proficiency (speaking, reading, writing, and understanding) in English is required.
• Must also be able to read and speak Thai fluently for this specific opportunity.
• Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
• Effective communication skills in high-stress situations (e.g., evacuations, security threats, medical emergencies).
• Ability to maintain a professional appearance and adhere to grooming standards, including uniform, hair, tattoo, and piercing guidelines. Visible tattoos on arms, wrists, legs, and feet are permitted if no larger than a credit card (3.5 x 2.24 inches) or covered by standard uniform pieces, and must not contain offensive content. Tattoos on the head, hands, or neck (including behind the ear) are not permitted. Decorative covers, adornments, or jewelry on teeth or in the mouth are not permitted.
• Proficient operation of electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops) for required tasks.
• Must possess a valid passport book prior to application with at least 18 months of remaining validity and eligibility to travel globally without restrictions to all countries served by United.
• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, and lift heavy objects (e.g., luggage into overhead bins or window exits).
• Ability to push and pull a beverage cart up to 250 lbs.
• Ability to pass a functional reach assessment with a combined 76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal reach (simultaneous), without shoes.
• Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule supporting a 24/7 operation (weekdays, weekends, holidays).

Training and Onboarding:

Successful candidates will undergo approximately 6.5 weeks of comprehensive training in Houston, TX, focusing on United's safety and customer service standards. During training, United provides a weekly stipend, accommodations, and two meals per day. Trainees must successfully complete an evacuation drill in water. Upon successful completion of training, candidates will be welcomed as full-time employees and assigned to one of United's hub cities (Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco, Washington Dulles) or other base locations (relocation funds are not provided). Successful training graduates receive a bonus.

All candidates must successfully complete pre-employment requirements, including a DOT drug screen, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests. Candidates must pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens (medical and recreational marijuana prohibited). A 10-year background check is required; history must not prohibit travel to any United destination (e.g., DWI/DUI convictions within 10 years may restrict entry to countries like Canada unless a Temporary Resident Permit is secured).

Compensation and Benefits:

United is pleased to offer employees a competitive compensation package. The starting hourly flight pay is $28.88, with the top of the base scale reaching $67.11 per hour, based on seniority. Additional compensation is provided for language skills, lead positions, and international trips. This position is also bonus eligible (e.g., profit sharing).
