Job Description

This position does not require special schooling or a college degree; successful candidates will receive full training provided by the airline.

Qualifications and Requirements
Candidates for the Flight Attendant position must meet the following qualifications and requirements:
- Minimum age of 21 years or older at the time of application.
- High school diploma or GED required; two or more years of college preferred.
- At least one year of customer service experience in the service industry (e.g., retail, hospitality, food service, teaching/education, aviation, social service).
- Ability to speak in a clear, concise, and organized manner, with sufficient volume to be heard in an emergency.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently. Proficiency in a second language is highly desirable.
- Fluency in languages such as Arabic, Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), Dutch, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Tagalog is an asset utilized by the airline.
- Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
- Effective communication skills in high-stress situations (e.g., evacuation, security threats, delays, medical emergencies, severe weather, turbulence).
- Professional appearance with excellent grooming standards; willingness to adhere to uniform, hair, tattoo, and piercing guidelines. Specific tattoo guidelines apply (not permitted on head, hands, or neck; visible tattoos on arms, wrists, legs, feet must not exceed credit card size or must be covered; visible tattoos must not contain offensive content).
- No decorative covers, adornments, or jewelry permitted on teeth or in the mouth.
- Ability to proficiently operate electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops, etc.) for required tasks.
- Must possess a valid passport prior to application with at least 18 months of remaining validity. Physical possession of the valid passport book is required at the time of application.
- Current eligibility to travel globally without restrictions, holding a valid U.S. passport book or foreign passport book with applicable visas.
- Ability to travel to and from all countries served by the airline without restrictions. Applicants are responsible for verifying their travel eligibility to enter and exit all destinations as a working crew member.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects (e.g., luggage to overhead bin or window exit), and push and pull beverage carts (up to 250 lbs.).
- Ability to pass a functional reach assessment with a combined 76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal reach and hold (simultaneous), without shoes, to operate necessary equipment and doors.
- Ability to sit securely in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Required to serve and/or sell food and beverages (including alcohol) professionally.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule supporting a 24/7 operation (weekdays, weekends, holidays, etc.).
Training and Onboarding
Successful candidates will undergo comprehensive training in Houston, TX, for approximately 6.5 weeks, learning airline safety and customer service standards. During training, the airline provides accommodations, breakfast, and lunch, along with a $140/week per diem. Upon successful completion of training, individuals are welcomed as full-time employees and assigned to one of the airline's seven hubs (Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco, Washington Dulles) or other flight attendant base locations (relocation funds are not provided).
Training requires successful completion of an evacuation drill in a water (pool) environment. Pre-employment requirements include a DOT drug screen, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests. Candidates must pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens; medical and recreational marijuana use is prohibited due to the safety-sensitive nature of the role. A 10-year background check is required, including criminal history; background must not prohibit international travel required by the job.
Compensation and Benefits
The airline offers employees a competitive compensation package, including competitive pay, exceptional benefits, and travel privileges. The starting hourly flight pay for this role is $28.88, with potential to reach the top of the base scale at $67.11 per hour. Seniority-based pay increases are provided, and additional compensation is available for language skills, lead positions, and international trips. This position is eligible for a bonus, including profit sharing.
