Flight Attendant

Responsibilities and Key Proficiencies:

Training:
Successful candidates will undergo comprehensive 6.5-week training in Houston, TX. This training covers essential safety procedures and the airline's renowned customer service standards. Upon successful completion, trainees become full-time employees and are assigned to one of the airline's base locations, including major hubs such as Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco, Washington Dulles, or other base locations (relocation funds are not provided). During training, the airline provides a $140/week stipend, along with accommodations and two meals per day.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Candidates for the Flight Attendant position must meet the following criteria:
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
- Possession of a high school diploma or GED is required; two or more years of college is preferred.
- A minimum of one year of customer service experience in a service-related industry is necessary (e.g., retail, hospitality, food service, teaching/education, aviation, social service).
- Must be able to speak clearly, concisely, and in an organized manner, with sufficient volume to be heard during emergencies.
- Fluency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English is required.
- Fluency in speaking and reading German is mandatory for this specific role.
- Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
- Effective communication skills are essential, particularly in high-stress situations such as aircraft evacuations, security threats, delays, medical emergencies, severe weather, and turbulence.
- Maintenance of a professional appearance and adherence to excellent grooming standards is expected, including compliance with uniform, hair, tattoo, and piercing guidelines. Tattoos are prohibited on the head, hands, or neck (including behind the ear). Visible tattoos on arms, wrists, legs, and feet are permitted but must not exceed the size of a credit card (3.5 inches x 2.24 inches) or must be covered by standard uniform items. Visible tattoos must not contain offensive content (including but not limited to violent, obscene, sexual, racist imagery, objectionable content, or weapons). Decorative covers, adornments, or jewelry on teeth or in the mouth are not permitted.
- Proficiency in operating electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops, etc.) required for job tasks.
- Must possess a valid passport at the time of application with at least 18 months of remaining validity.
- Physical possession of a valid U.S. passport book or foreign passport book with applicable visas is required, ensuring eligibility to travel globally without restrictions as a working crew member.
- Ability to travel to and from all countries served by the airline without any restrictions. Applicants are responsible for verifying travel eligibility to all destinations.
- Physical capability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects (such as luggage to overhead bins or operating window exits), and push/pull beverage carts (up to 250 lbs.).
- Ability to pass a functional reach assessment, demonstrating a combined 76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal reach and hold (simultaneous), without shoes, to operate necessary equipment and doors.
- Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Requirement to serve and/or sell food and beverages (including alcohol) professionally.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule supporting a 24/7 operation, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Onboarding and Expectations:
Successful candidates must meet several requirements during the onboarding and training process:
- Successful completion of a water evacuation drill during training is mandatory.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment DOT drug screening, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
- Ability to pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens. Please note that medical and recreational marijuana use is prohibited due to the safety-sensitive nature of the Flight Attendant position.
- Ability to pass a 10-year background check, including criminal history. Background must not prohibit travel to destinations served by the airline. Candidates with DWI/DUI convictions or probation within the last 10 years should be aware of potential international travel restrictions, such as those imposed by Canada, and must possess necessary travel permits if applicable.

- The starting hourly flight pay for this role is $28.88, with the top of the base scale reaching $67.11 per hour.
