Position Summary
The Flight Attendant is primarily responsible for ensuring the utmost safety and comfort of all passengers on board. This critical role demands strict adherence to all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and company Inflight guidelines, contributing significantly to a positive and secure travel experience for every passenger.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Execute all regulatory and assigned cabin duties with meticulous attention to detail, consistently providing a safe, comfortable, and welcoming onboard experience for guests.
- Maintain comprehensive and current knowledge of all emergency procedures and the proper use of emergency equipment on board the aircraft. This includes proficiently operating all emergency exits and aircraft equipment, which may require specific movements and the application of force up to 70 pounds.
- Provide efficient and courteous food and beverage service to passengers, a duty that involves pushing and pulling moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Assist passengers with the proper stowing of carry-on baggage, including items weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Ensure a consistently neat, orderly, and hygienic cabin environment throughout all phases of flight.
- Contribute actively to reliable and on-time flight operations by collaborating effectively with fellow crew members to meet all report times, departure times, and minimum turn times.
- Perform inflight sales and promotional duties as assigned.
- Offer support to other Customer Service staff as needed, assisting with passenger handling or other related duties.
- Maintain reliable and prompt attendance in strict accordance with all Company policies and procedures.
- Present a professional image through exemplary conduct and appearance, adhering fully to the Company’s uniform dress code.
- Comply with all Associate Rules of Conduct as outlined in applicable manuals.
- Ensure continuous currency of all Inflight guides and manuals.
- Actively foster the Company’s core values and culture within the work environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned or required to support operational needs.
Required Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform this job successfully.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years of customer service experience.
- Must be at least 20 years of age by the date of the first interview.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional years of customer service experience, with a strong preference for experience within an aviation environment.
- Previous experience as a Flight Attendant.
Other Requirements:
- Possess polished interpersonal skills, a consistently positive attitude, and a strong customer-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to serve alcoholic beverages to passengers.
- Ability and willingness to serve and handle a variety of food items, including peanuts, meals containing shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
- Comfortable working with animals and around various allergens and products commonly found in an aircraft cabin.
- Strict adherence to Republic’s Flight Attendant Style Guide (Dress Code): Tattoos are not permitted on the face (including the front of one's face from ears forward, the underside of one's chin, and cheeks), neck (area down to where a uniform shirt collar would clearly and consistently cover), and hands (including both the tops and palms of one's hands and fingers, up through the wrist bone). Tattoos in non-prohibited areas must not be visible at any time while in uniform.
- Possess a wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater, necessary to reach and safely operate all required equipment on the aircraft.
- For safety reasons, must be able to sit securely in the Flight Attendant jump seat with the seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without requiring an extender or any other modification that could compromise the integrity of the harness. (For reference: The lap belt measures 50 inches when fastened, and the shoulder harness measures 40 inches when fastened).
- No multiple piercings visible while in uniform.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Proficiency in effectively presenting information and responding to questions from management, crew members, passengers, and the general public.
- Fluency in English, including the ability to communicate clearly and be understood, especially when issuing shouted verbal commands during emergency situations.
Reasoning and Problem-Solving Ability:
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment and effectively manage stress associated with tight deadlines and unforeseen operational changes.
- Capacity to interpret and apply diverse instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats.
- Possess the critical ability to remain calm, think clearly, and react swiftly and appropriately in all types of emergency situations, including but not limited to: medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, emergency evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, and turbulence.
Decision Making:
- Capability for making sound, structured daily operational decisions, often requiring thoughtful consideration.
- Adeptness at processing information rapidly and responding positively during unexpected and/or serious situations.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain emotional control and act professionally under high levels of stress.
Physical Demands

- Ability to exert physical force up to 70 pounds to operate emergency equipment and exits.
- Capability to lift objects weighing up to 35 pounds above shoulders.
- Strength to push and pull service carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Capacity for extended periods of walking and standing, including during aircraft turbulence.
- Proficiency in stooping, crouching, squatting, climbing, and kneeling.
- Visual acuity of 20/20 or better with corrective lenses, if required.
- Auditory ability to clearly discern verbal communications, both in person and over airplane communication systems, amidst ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
- Ability to fit properly into an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without modification.
- Agility to move freely, effectively, and quickly within a confined aircraft environment.
- Stamina for extended duty periods on consecutive days.
