Flight Attendant
The Flight Attendant role is pivotal to delivering an exceptional travel experience while upholding the highest standards of safety and service. This position is responsible for ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of passengers in strict accordance with all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and company Inflight guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To successfully fulfill the responsibilities of this role, the Flight Attendant performs the following essential duties:
- Performs all assigned cabin duties, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and welcoming onboard experience for all passengers, with constant attention to their needs.
- Maintains comprehensive knowledge and proficiency in all emergency procedures and the proper use of emergency equipment; capable of operating all emergency exits and aircraft equipment requiring movements and force up to 70 pounds.
- Provides in-flight food and beverage service, including operating and maneuvering service carts weighing over 250 pounds.
- Assists passengers with the stowing of carry-on baggage up to 35 pounds.
- Ensures a neat and orderly cabin environment throughout the flight.
- Collaborates effectively with other crewmembers to ensure on-time performance by adhering to all report, departure, and minimum turn times.
- Executes assigned in-flight sales and promotional duties.
- Supports other Customer Service staff with passenger handling and related duties as required.
- Maintains reliable and punctual attendance in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Consistently presents a professional image in both conduct and appearance, strictly adhering to the company uniform dress code.
- Adheres to all associate Rules of Conduct as outlined in applicable manuals.
- Ensures currency of all Inflight guides and manuals.
- Actively fosters the company's core values and culture within the work environment.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Candidates for this position should possess the following qualifications:
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least two years of customer service experience.
- Must be 20 years of age by the initial interview date.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Additional years of customer service experience, ideally within the aviation sector.
- Prior Flight Attendant experience is highly desirable.
Other Requirements
- Possesses refined interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a strong customer-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to serve alcoholic beverages.
- Ability to serve and handle various food items, including peanuts, shellfish/seafood, beef, and pork.
- Comfortable working with animals and around common allergens and products.
- Strict adherence to the company's Flight Attendant Style Guide regarding appearance, including a policy against visible tattoos on the face, neck, and hands while in uniform.
- A wingspan of approximately 55 inches or greater is required to safely operate all necessary aircraft equipment.
- Ability to sit securely in the Flight Attendant jump seat with the seatbelt (50 inches when fastened) and shoulder harness (40 inches when fastened) fastened without modifications.
- No multiple visible piercings permitted while in uniform.
Language Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex technical procedures and governmental aviation regulations.
- Proficiency in effectively presenting information and responding to inquiries from management, crew, passengers, and the general public.
- Fluent in English, capable of clear verbal communication, including shouting commands during emergency situations.
Reasoning and Problem-Solving Ability
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a time-sensitive environment, effectively managing stress associated with deadlines and unforeseen changes.
- Capable of interpreting diverse instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats.
- Ability to remain calm, think critically, and react swiftly in various emergency scenarios, including medical emergencies, aircraft decompression, evacuations, fires, security threats, passenger disturbances, and turbulence.

- Exercises sound judgment in making daily operational decisions, often requiring thoughtful consideration within structured guidelines.
- Capable of rapidly processing information and reacting positively during unexpected or serious situations.
- Maintains composure and acts appropriately under high-stress conditions.
Physical Demands

- Possesses the physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits, requiring movements and force up to 70 pounds.
- Capable of lifting objects above shoulders up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull service carts weighing over 250 pounds.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, including during aircraft turbulence.
- Capable of stooping, crouching, squatting, climbing, and kneeling.
- Visual acuity (20/20 corrected) at 20 feet or more.
- Auditory acuity to clearly hear verbal communications in person and via aircraft communication systems amidst ambient cabin noise.
- Ability to sit securely in the assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without modifications.
- Capable of moving freely, effectively, and quickly within a confined aircraft environment to perform all required functions.
- Ability to work extended duty periods on consecutive days.
