Role Summary and Core Responsibilities
The Flight Attendant role is a crucial, safety-sensitive position based at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). This vital position ensures the safety, comfort, and regulatory compliance of all passengers while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and customer care during flight operations.
Key Functions of the Flight Attendant:
- Rigorous enforcement of all federal aviation regulations and safety requirements, ensuring complete passenger compliance.
- Greeting, directing, and assisting passengers with professionalism upon boarding and throughout the flight duration.
- Providing comprehensive safety briefings and delivering essential public announcements clearly and effectively.
- Exhibiting leadership, confidence, and sound judgment when handling various in-flight situations, including passenger inquiries, operational changes, and emergencies.
- Providing clear and calm instructions during an emergency and executing rapid evacuation procedures when necessary.
- Care for and assist ill, injured, or incapacitated passengers, and administer first aid in compliance with government and company regulations.
- Assisting passengers with special needs, including minors traveling alone (unaccompanied minors).
- Effectively diffusing challenging situations involving disorderly, intoxicated, or irate passengers.
- Adaptation to frequent changes in the work environment, including variable flight schedules, weather conditions, and confined workspaces within aircraft aisles and galleys.
- Completing all duties in a timely manner, contributing directly to the collective effort of on-time departures and arrivals.
Minimum Position Requirements
Prospective Flight Attendants must meet the following mandatory qualifications:
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Possession of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Height requirement between 5’0” and 6’0” (without shoes).
- Ability to securely fit into a jump seat harness and seat belt without modification in any manner.
- Must hold a valid passport with the legal right to travel unrestricted to and from all countries served by Envoy Air.
- Must meet all requirements to enter and exit Canada, including having no criminal history within the last five (5) years.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in the English language (read, write, fluently speak, and understand).
- Willingness and ability to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and trips lasting up to four (4) consecutive overnights.
- Ability to push, pull, twist, turn, and lift equipment, carts, and doors of various weights.
- Must maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance and strictly comply with all uniform standards.
- Possession of the legal right to work in the United States.
- Possess a valid, unexpired, and unsuspended REAL ID-compliant, state driver's license or passport.
- Access to reliable high-speed internet and a computer or device capable of downloading Microsoft Office Suite.
Relocation and Training Requirements:
- Candidates must be willing and able to attend training in Dallas/Fort Worth, TX; portions of this training will be unpaid.
- Upon successful completion of training, the candidate must be willing and able to immediately relocate without any reimbursement to an assigned Flight Attendant crew base (Chicago, IL; Dallas/Fort Worth, TX; Miami, FL; Phoenix, AZ). Crew bases are awarded in order of seniority and dependent upon operational needs.
- The successful candidate must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable, and must secure appropriate airport authority and US Customs security badges.
- Applicants must adhere to strict appearance standards: Tattoos/body art of any kind may not be visible while in company issued uniform or during training, and body piercings are limited to single ear piercings.
- Federal law mandates that Envoy Air determine an applicant's history of Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and/or alcohol violation(s) or refusal(s) to test before hiring for a safety-sensitive position.
Preferred Qualifications
- One (1) year of prior hospitality experience in hotel, restaurant, or retail industries.
- Previous work experience in positions that required face-to-face, public contact.
- Possession of a college degree.
