Flight Attendant
United Airlines is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join its team as Flight Attendants. As a Flight Attendant, the individual will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of passengers while providing exceptional customer service. Responsibilities:
- Prioritize safety by adhering to the highest safety standards and emergency procedures.

- Maintain flexibility and availability for global assignments 24/7, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
- Fulfill reserve assignments on short notice and remain away from base for extended periods.
- Collaborate effectively as a team member, while also demonstrating the ability to work independently.
- Serve and/or sell food and beverages (including alcohol) in a diligent and professional manner.
- Operate electronic devices proficiently for completion of required tasks.

Training:
The Flight Attendant will participate in a comprehensive 6.5-week training program in Houston, TX, focusing on United's safety and customer service standards. United provides a weekly stipend of $140, along with accommodations, breakfast, and lunch during training. Upon successful completion of training, individuals will be assigned to one of the seven hub locations: Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco, Washington Dulles, or one of the other flight attendant base locations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
- High school graduate or GED required; two or more years of college preferred.
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience in the service industry (e.g., retail, hospitality, food, teaching/education, aviation, social service).
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely, with sufficient volume for emergency situations.
- Fluency in English (speaking, reading, writing, and understanding).
- Fluency in Greek (speaking, reading, writing, and understanding).
- Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
- Effective communication skills for high-stress situations (e.g., aircraft evacuation, security threats, medical emergencies).
- Professional appearance and adherence to grooming and uniform standards.
- Tattoos are permitted on arms, wrists, legs, and feet provided they are not larger than a credit card/employee badge (3.5 inches long x 2.24 inches wide) or they must be covered with standard uniform pieces. Tattoos may not be offensive. Tattoos are NOT permitted on the head, hands, or neck, including behind the ear.
- No decorative covers, adornments, and/or jewelry on teeth or in the mouth are permitted.
- Possession of a valid passport with at least 18 months of validity remaining.
- Ability to travel to and from all countries United serves without restrictions.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects (such as luggage), and push/pull beverage carts (up to 250 lbs.).
- Ability to pass a functional reach assessment (76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal reach, simultaneous).
- Ability to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Successful completion of an evacuation drill in water during training.
- Willingness to complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
- Ability to pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens. Medical and recreational marijuana use is prohibited.
- Ability to pass a 10-year background check.
Compensation and Benefits:
