Overview:
United Airlines Flight Attendants are responsible for maintaining the highest levels of safety and providing a "People-First" demeanor. They must be available for global assignments 24/7, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours. Dependability and timeliness are critical.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety and security of passengers and crew.
- Provide exceptional customer service, attending to passenger needs and concerns.
- Effectively communicate with passengers in various situations, including emergencies.
- Serve and sell food and beverages, including alcohol, in a professional manner.
- Work independently and as part of a team to ensure smooth flight operations.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to uniform and grooming standards.
- Be available for global assignments 24/7, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
- Fulfill reserve assignments on short notice and be away from base for extended periods.
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
- High school graduate or GED equivalent; two or more years of college preferred.
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience in a service industry (e.g., retail, hospitality, food service, education, aviation, social service).
- Fluency in English (speaking, reading, writing, and understanding).
- Fluency in Hebrew (speaking, reading, writing).
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely, audible in emergency situations.
- Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
- Ability to operate electronic devices proficiently.
- Must possess a valid passport with at least 18 months of validity remaining.
- Must be able to travel to and from all countries United serves without restrictions.
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects, and push/pull beverage carts.
- Ability to pass functional reach assessment.
- Ability to sit in assigned jump seat.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be willing to complete pre-employment drug screen, background checks, and vision/hearing tests.
- Must be able to pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens.
- Must be able to pass a 10-year background check.
