Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 21 years at the time of application
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 2 years of college preferred
- At least one year of proven customer service experience in a service industry setting (e.g., retail, hospitality, food service, education, aviation, social services)
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently
- Proficient Italian language skills (both reading and speaking)
- Ability to effectively communicate during high-stress situations, such as emergencies, delays, medical incidents, severe weather conditions, and turbulence
- Professional appearance, adhering to United's grooming standards, including uniform, hair, tattoo, and piercing guidelines
- Tattoos are permitted on arms, wrists, legs, and feet, provided they are not offensive and do not exceed the size of a credit card (3.5 inches long x 2.24 inches wide). Tattoos are not permitted on the head, hands, or neck.
- Decorative covers or adornments on teeth or in the mouth are not permitted.
- Proficiency in operating electronic devices for task completion (e.g., phones, tablets, laptops)
- Possession of a valid passport with at least 18 months of validity remaining at the time of application
- Ability to travel to and from all countries serviced by United without restrictions
- Physical capabilities, including standing, walking, kneeling, bending, stooping, stretching, reaching, lifting heavy objects (e.g., luggage), and pushing/pulling beverage carts (up to 250 lbs)
- Successful completion of a functional reach assessment with a combined 76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal reach (simultaneous), without shoes on.
- Ability to sit comfortably in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened
- Willingness and ability to serve and/or sell food and beverages, including alcoholic beverages, in a professional manner.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekdays, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts, to support United's 24/7 operations.
Onboarding and Training:
- Successful completion of a water evacuation drill during training
- Completion of pre-employment DOT drug screens, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests
- Passing DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens (medical and recreational marijuana are prohibited due to the safety-sensitive nature of the role)
- Passing a 10-year background check, including criminal background history, with no restrictions on travel to or from any United destinations.
