Key Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Prioritizing and maintaining the highest safety standards throughout all phases of flight.
  • Providing direct engagement with customers, adeptly resolving issues with understanding and grace.
  • Influencing customer loyalty through excellent service and representing the airline with pride.
  • Adhering to a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and reserve assignments often with short notice.
  • Performing physical duties including standing, walking, kneeling, bending, stooping, stretching, reaching, lifting heavy objects such as luggage (to overhead bins or window exits), and pushing/pulling beverage carts (up to 250 lbs.).
  • Meeting functional reach requirements (76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal combined, without shoes) necessary to operate equipment and doors.
  • Sitting in assigned jump seats with safety restraints secured.
  • Diligently serving and/or selling food and beverages, including alcohol.
  • Proficiently operating electronic devices for task completion.
  • Maintaining a professional appearance and adhering to comprehensive uniform, grooming, tattoo, and piercing guidelines. Visible tattoos on arms, wrists, legs, or feet are permitted if no larger than a credit card (3.5 inches long x 2.24 inches wide), or they must be covered by standard uniform pieces. Visible tattoos must not be offensive (e.g., violent, obscene, racist, or contain weapons imagery). Tattoos are not permitted on the head, hands, or neck (including behind the ear). Decorative covers, adornments, or jewelry on or in the mouth are not permitted.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
  • Possession of a high school diploma or GED is required; two or more years of college are preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of customer service experience in a service industry is necessary (e.g., retail, hospitality, food service, education, aviation, social service).
  • Must speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
  • Must speak, read, write, and understand German fluently.
  • Ability to speak clearly, concisely, and loudly enough to be heard in an emergency.
  • Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
  • Capacity to effectively communicate during high-stress situations such as evacuations, security threats, medical emergencies, severe weather, and turbulence.
  • Must possess a valid passport book prior to application with at least 18 months of remaining validity. The passport must be in good condition, and the applicant must be eligible to travel globally without restrictions as a working crew member.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule supporting a 24/7 operation, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Onboarding and Training:

  • Successful candidates must complete a mandatory 6.5-week training program in Houston, TX, covering safety and customer service standards.
  • Requires successful completion of a water evacuation drill during training.
  • Involves pre-employment DOT drug screening, comprehensive background checks (including a 10-year criminal history review), fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
  • Must pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens. Medical and recreational marijuana use is prohibited.
  • Background history must permit travel to and from all countries served by the airline.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Starting hourly flight pay begins at $28.88/hour, with the top of the base scale reaching $67.11/hour based on seniority.
