Flight Attendant
As a Flight Attendant, the incumbent serves as an essential member of the cabin crew, dedicated to ensuring the safety, security, and comfort of passengers throughout the travel experience. This role is vital to maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence and delivering exceptional customer service across a global network. The Flight Attendant represents the airline with pride and distinction, fostering customer loyalty through positive interactions and skillful issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prioritize the safety and security of all passengers and crew members, particularly in high-stress situations such as aircraft evacuations, security threats, medical emergencies, severe weather, and turbulence.
- Provide clear, concise, and organized communication, including emergency announcements audible throughout the cabin.
- Deliver outstanding customer service with a "People-First" demeanor, engaging passengers directly, exercising good judgment, and resolving issues with understanding and grace.
- Effectively manage in-flight services, including the serving and/or selling of food and beverages (including alcohol).
- Proficiently operate electronic devices and necessary aircraft equipment, machinery, and doors.
- Assist passengers with luggage and other items, including lifting to overhead bins and operating window exits.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere strictly to established grooming standards, including uniform, hair, tattoo, and piercing guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
- A high school diploma or GED is required; two or more years of college are preferred.
- Possesses at least one year of customer service experience within the service industry (e.g., retail, hospitality, food service, teaching/education, aviation, social service).
- Demonstrates fluent verbal and written communication skills in English, including the ability to speak, read, write, and understand the language.
- Must be able to read and speak Italian fluently.
- Possesses the physical ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, stretch, reach, lift heavy objects (such as luggage), and push/pull a beverage cart weighing up to 250 lbs.
- Able to pass a functional reach assessment with a combined 76-inch vertical and 43.5-inch horizontal reach (simultaneous, without shoes).
- Capable of sitting in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened.
- Ability to hear all types and ranges of sound.
- Maintains professional grooming standards: No decorative covers, adornments, or jewelry on teeth or in the mouth are permitted. Tattoos are not permitted on the head, hands, or neck (including behind the ear). Visible tattoos on arms, wrists, legs, and feet must not exceed the size of a credit card / employee badge (3.5 inches long x 2.24 inches wide); larger visible tattoos must be covered by standard uniform pieces. Visible tattoos must not contain offensive content (e.g., violent, obscene, sexual, racist, objectionable content, or imagery including weapons).
- Must possess a valid passport book prior to application with at least 18 months of validity remaining. The passport must be in good condition and in the applicant's physical possession.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Eligible to travel globally without restrictions to all countries served as a working crew member. Applicants are responsible for verifying their eligibility to enter and exit these locations.
- Willing and able to work a flexible schedule in support of a 24/7 operation, including weekdays, weekends, holidays, extended hours, and being available for reserve assignments on short notice away from base for multiple days.
- Demonstrates dependability and timeliness.
- Possesses a consistent track record of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Training and Onboarding:
- Selected candidates will undergo approximately 6.5 weeks of comprehensive training in Houston, TX, focusing on safety and customer service standards.
- Successful completion of a water evacuation drill during training is required.
- Applicants must pass pre-employment requirements, including a DOT drug screen, comprehensive 10-year background check (criminal history must not prohibit global travel; note requirements regarding DWI/DUI convictions and travel to Canada), fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests.
- The role is safety-sensitive; applicants must pass DOT/FAA pre-employment and randomized drug screens. Medical and recreational marijuana use is prohibited.
- During training, accommodations are provided, along with a weekly stipend of $140 and two meals per day (breakfast and lunch).
- Successful training graduates will receive a $1,000 bonus.
- Upon successful training completion, Flight Attendants will be assigned to one of the designated base locations, which may include Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco, Washington Dulles, or other bases (relocation funds are not provided).
Compensation and Benefits:
