Initial training spans 6.5 weeks in Houston, Texas, focusing on United's safety and customer service standards. United provides a $140 weekly per diem, along with accommodation, breakfast, and lunch during the training period. Upon successful completion, flight attendants will be assigned to one of United's major hubs or other base locations.
Inflight Crew Member responsibilities include ensuring the highest levels of safety, providing exceptional "people-first" customer service, and maintaining a flexible schedule to meet the demands of a 24/7 global operation. Candidates must be dependable, timely, and be capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Qualifications and Requirements include:
Onboarding and training expectations include successful completion of an evacuation drill in the water, pre-employment DOT drug screen, comprehensive background checks, fingerprinting, and vision/hearing tests. Candidates must be able to pass a 10 year background check, including a criminal history check that does not prohibit travel to or from any of United's destinations. Medical and recreational marijuana use is prohibited due to the safety-sensitive nature of the position.
United offers a competitive compensation package, including competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and travel privileges for employees and their families. Additional compensation may be available for language skills, lead roles, and international trips. During training, United provides a $140 per week stipend, along with accommodation, and two daily meals. Successful training graduates will receive a $1,000 bonus.
