GoJet Airlines Flight Attendant - Chicago, IL

GoJet Airlines invites passionate and professional individuals to join its team as a Flight Attendant based in Chicago, IL. For those who dream of a career where travel is a daily reality, this opportunity offers just that. GoJet Airlines seeks friendly, enthusiastic candidates committed to delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring passenger safety and comfort. No prior aviation experience is mandatory, as comprehensive training is provided.

As a GoJet Flight Attendant, the individual will serve as the sole cabin crew member aboard the revolutionary 50-passenger United Express CRJ-550 aircraft. This pivotal role involves overseeing safety and security protocols from passenger boarding through deplaning, while simultaneously providing the highest level of customer service to create a memorable and positive travel experience. GoJet Airlines distinguishes itself among regional carriers by assigning Flight Attendants directly to the base for which they apply.

Key Responsibilities:

The GoJet Flight Attendant is responsible for setting high standards in in-flight service and demonstrating remarkable reliability and punctuality. This role requires the ability to think independently while actively contributing to a collaborative team environment. The Flight Attendant must effectively manage a wide range of situations encountered through continuous interaction with the public, both on and off the aircraft, working efficiently with and without direct supervision.

Core duties include ensuring the safety and comfort of all customers, responding confidently to both emergency and non-emergency situations (following extensive training), maintaining a consistently neat and orderly cabin environment, and strictly adhering to all applicable aviation regulations and company work rules. Professional representation of the GoJet Airlines brand while in uniform is paramount.

Minimum Qualifications:

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

The role necessitates attending up to six weeks of paid training in St. Louis, MO. The Flight Attendant must be available for reserve duty in the assigned Chicago base, which requires being on-call and ready to report for duty. This reserve status may continue for an undetermined duration. Adherence to strict uniform standards and guidelines is mandatory, requiring a professional and conservative appearance. Visible tattoos or body piercings on the hands, face, or neck, or those visible in business attire, are not permitted, with the exception of religiously required pierced ears.

Physical requirements include the ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, squat, push-pull, and lift heavy objects, with some physical exertion required. The position involves long periods of standing and speaking, working in small, confined cabin spaces, and adapting to turbulence, dry air, and varying noise levels from aircraft engines. Extensive travel is inherent to the role, requiring consecutive nights away from home and enduring diverse climates. Alternative work schedules, including holidays, evenings, and weekends, are expected. Success in this position requires skills in handling difficult situations, problem-solving, resolving complaints, and de-escalating conflict. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for providing a friendly reception to all customers and engaging directly through outstanding public speaking, sound judgment, and the ability to resolve issues with understanding, compassion, and perseverance.

Salary and Benefits:

GoJet Airlines offers competitive compensation and a robust benefits package for its Flight Attendants. This includes a $5,000 sign-on bonus and an hourly rate of $19.58, with a guaranteed minimum of 75 hours of pay per month. A per diem of $2.00 per hour is also provided. Employees enjoy valuable United Airlines flight benefits for themselves and eligible family members and friends. The comprehensive benefits package features medical, dental, and vision insurance, disability and life insurance, and participation in a 401K retirement plan. Paid vacation time is available after one year of dedicated service. A uniform bank is also provided.

Training:

Selected candidates must successfully complete a mandatory, company-paid training program at the GoJet Flight Attendant Training Center in Saint Louis, MO. This classroom training is followed by hands-on evaluation aboard an aircraft. The training program is approximately five to six weeks in length, depending on class size. Prior to attending the in-person training in St. Louis, Flight Attendant candidates are required to complete two complimentary preparatory courses through the Inflight Institute. A short supplemental video course must be completed before the interview stage, and a pre-course module must be completed with a score of 80% or higher to be eligible for the in-person training. These modules are designed to help candidates understand the journey ahead in becoming a professional Flight Attendant.
