GoJet Airlines Flight Attendant - Newark, NJ
GoJet Airlines seeks friendly, professional, and enthusiastic individuals to join its crew as a Flight Attendant, based in Newark, NJ. No previous experience is required, but candidates must be committed to providing the highest level of customer service.
As a GoJet Flight Attendant, the individual will serve as the sole Flight Attendant on a 50-passenger CRJ-550 aircraft, flying for United Express. This role involves overseeing safety and security from boarding to deplaning, delivering exceptional customer service, and creating a memorable travel experience. GoJet Airlines distinguishes itself by assigning the base applied for, ensuring stability for its Flight Attendants.
Responsibilities:
- Set a high standard and provide remarkable in-flight service.
- Demonstrate excellent dependability and punctuality.
- Think independently while collaborating within a team.
- Handle diverse situations while interacting with the public on and off the aircraft.
- Work independently and as part of a team without direct supervision.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of customers.
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency situations (training provided).
- Maintain a neat and orderly cabin environment.
- Follow applicable regulations and work rules.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Two years of customer service experience preferred.
- Ability to make announcements, give emergency orders, and communicate effectively in English.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Possession of a valid passport, driver’s license or state ID, and Social Security card.
- Unrestricted legal right to travel to/from all states and countries (Canada).
- Residence within two hours (100 miles) of the Newark domicile.
- Valid travel documents throughout all phases of training and employment.
- Legal right to work in the United States.
- Ability to attend up to 6 weeks of paid training in St. Louis, MO.
- Ability to be on call and available for duty in the assigned base (reserve duty), potentially for an extended period.
- Adherence to uniform standards and guidelines, maintaining a professional and conservative appearance. Visible tattoos or body piercings on the hands, face, or neck are not permitted without exception.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, squat, push-pull, and lift heavy objects.
- Ability to stand and speak for extended periods.
- Ability to work in small, confined spaces and tolerate turbulence, dry air, and varying noise levels from aircraft engines.
- Willingness to travel extensively, spend consecutive nights away from home, and endure all climates.
- Availability for alternative work schedules, including holidays, evenings, and weekends.
- Skilled in handling difficult situations, problem-solving, complaint resolution, and conflict de-escalation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; provide friendly reception to all customers.
- Ability to professionally represent the GoJet Airlines brand while in the Flight Attendant uniform.
- Direct engagement with customers through outstanding communication skills, public speaking, good judgment, and ability to resolve issues with understanding, compassion, and perseverance.
Salary and Benefits:
- $19.58/hour.
- Minimum of 75 hours per month.

Training:
Selected candidates must successfully complete a company-paid training program at the Flight Attendant Training Center in Saint Louis, MO, including hands-on evaluation in the aircraft. Training is approximately five to six weeks in length. GoJet Flight Attendant candidates will be provided two complimentary training courses through the Inflight Institute. One short supplemental video course is mandatory prior to the interview, and a pre-course must be completed with an 80% or higher score to attend the in-person training course in St Louis.
