Position Summary:

Solairus Aviation is seeking a Full-Time Global 6000 Second-in-Command (SIC) to join an established operation based in the Chicago area. The ideal candidate is a collaborative professional committed to excellence in all aspects of their performance. This role is integral to a dedicated team focused on expertly and safely meeting client travel needs while upholding Solairus' core values.

Key Responsibilities:

The Second-in-Command is primarily responsible for the safe operation of the Global 6000 aircraft. This includes conducting flights in a safe and prudent manner, adhering to company policies, procedures, and Federal Aviation Regulations. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring the safe operation of the Global 6000 aircraft.
  • Conducting comprehensive pre-flight duties, including reviewing aircraft maintenance status and performing inspections in accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual.
  • Thoroughly checking weather conditions and airport facilities along the route and at destinations, including alternate airports.
  • Operating flights in strict compliance with Solairus Aviation policies, procedures, and all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of all passengers, the aircraft, and fellow crew members.
  • Accurately completing all required trip paperwork according to current procedures.

Qualifications:

Candidates for the Global 6000 SIC position must meet the following flight hour requirements:

  • Total Time: 1000 hours
  • Pilot in Command (PIC): 500 hours
  • Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 500 hours
  • Multi-Engine Land Pilot in Command (MEL PIC): 100 hours
  • Time in Turbo Jet: 100 hours
  • Instrument Time: 75 hours

Specific Qualifications & Certifications:

  • Must hold a type rating on the Global 6000 or a comparable aircraft.
  • A current First Class Medical Certificate is required.
  • Must be available to work on an on-call basis.
  • Must be able to complete annual ICAO International procedures training.
  • Must currently reside within the Chicago area or be willing to relocate.

Compensation:

Solairus collects salary range information based on market conditions from multiple industry sources. Compensation for Solairus crew members, including this Second-in-Command role, typically ranges from $50,000 to $500,000 annually. Actual salary is determined based on various factors, including geographic area, experience level, specific equipment type/aircraft, job duties, required training, and the assigned account.
