Purpose of Position
Executive Jet Management is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Lead Pilot in Command for a Global 6000 aircraft based in Broomfield, CO. This is a three-pilot account supported by a dedicated Maintenance Technician, operating under both Part 91 and Part 135 regulations. The Lead Pilot in Command serves as a peer-leader for the designated flight department, emphasizing effective crew resource management, exceptional client service, and the efficient completion of flight department administrative duties. The Lead PIC actively participates in the flying schedule and fulfills all standard Pilot in Command duties and expectations. The Lead PIC communicates frequently with the EJM Regional Chief Pilot and helps foster engagement within the team.
Tasks and Responsibilities
The Lead Pilot in Command is responsible for leading the flight department's success, ensuring the safe operation of flights, delivering an exceptional service experience, and maintaining proficiency and compliance for the designated flight department.
Leading Flight Department Success:
- Manages important client relationships, balancing client needs with EJM requirements. Proactively communicates to address potential issues or opportunities.
- Works closely with maintenance personnel (assigned or company designee) to ensure compliance with all aircraft maintenance events (scheduled and unscheduled) and completion of regular tasks (e.g., database updates, audits, checklists).
- Completes additional duties expected by the aircraft owner/account, including invoice reviews, auditing, vendor relations, charter approvals, and crew scheduling, in accordance with defined expectations.
- Supports flight department crew members, guiding their understanding of responsibilities and motivating them to achieve flight department goals while representing the EJM brand. Reports concerns or issues to the Regional Chief Pilot.
- Handles flight department administration matters, including managing office and aircraft supplies, subscriptions, and crew schedules, including communication with crew members.
Ensuring the Safe Operation of Flight:
- Ensures crewing and trip assignments comply with company and regulatory requirements.
- Completes flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each assignment as required.
- Utilizes Threats, Plans and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead required briefings and mitigate operational risks.
- Complies with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates with company personnel as required. Acts as the Ground Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator as defined by company policy.
- Completes all aircraft pre-flight tasks, including assessing the aircraft's maintenance status, to ensure mission capability. Records all aircraft discrepancies in accordance with company SOPs.
- Ensures all aircraft ground servicing items (e.g., fueling, oil, oxygen) are monitored and accomplished according to SOPs.
- Completes passenger briefings in accordance with company policy and regulation. Delivers the highest level of customer service, accommodating special passenger needs (e.g., physically challenged).
- Utilizes Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) to communicate clearly and promptly with crew and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
Delivering an Exceptional Service Experience:
- Provides quality service to owners and passengers, identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience. Investigates and resolves service deviations regularly.
- Collaborates with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to provide a consistent service experience to owners and passengers. Resolves conflict and challenges effectively.
Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance:
- Maintains regulatory and company-required training and recency of experience.
- Complies with the company SMS program, reporting safety or non-compliance concerns through appropriate channels.
- Ensures all crew members remain qualified to act in their assigned capacity according to regulations and company policy.
- Ensures all crew members comply with company policies and that appropriate audits are in place.
Certifications and Licenses
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other (KSAOs)
- Prior experience in corporate/business aviation preferred.
- FAA Type rating in the applicable fleet (Global 6000).
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions associated with the position.
- Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
Base Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $315,000 - $320,000.
