Purpose of the Position

Executive Jet Management, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is actively seeking highly qualified candidates for a Pilot in Command (PIC) position operating a Global 6000 aircraft. This integral role will be based in Oxford, CT (KOXC). The account has maintained a strong relationship with EJM for over five years, currently operating a Global 5000V and now expanding to incorporate a new Global 6000. This will transition to a robust seven-pilot account (with three new pilot positions being added) supported by two dedicated Maintenance Technicians and two Cabin Attendants. Operations will encompass both Part 91 and Part 135 flights, with each aircraft flying approximately 350 hours annually.

The Pilot in Command holds ultimate responsibility for ensuring that the aircraft is operated in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner. The PIC is expected to adhere rigorously to all company and regulatory requirements while consistently delivering an exceptional service experience to passengers and owners.

Key Responsibilities

Ensuring Safe Flight Operations:

  • Ensures all crewing and trip assignments strictly comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Completes comprehensive flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each assignment.
  • Utilizes the Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead essential briefings and effectively mitigate operational risks.
  • Adheres to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates proactively with relevant company personnel. Acts as the designated Ground Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator in accordance with company policy.
  • Performs all required aircraft pre-flight inspections, meticulously assessing the aircraft's maintenance status to ensure it is mission-capable. Accurately records all aircraft discrepancies in line with company SOPs.
  • Monitors and ensures the proper accomplishment of all aircraft ground servicing items, including fueling, oil, and oxygen services, in accordance with SOPs.
  • Conducts thorough passenger briefings as per company policy and regulatory standards. Delivers the highest level of customer service, accommodating any special needs of passengers (e.g., physically challenged).
  • Applies Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) principles to foster clear and timely communication with crew members and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.

Delivering an Exceptional Service Experience:

  • Provides superior quality service to aircraft owners and passengers, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance the overall EJM service experience. Regularly investigates and resolves any service deviations promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborates seamlessly with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to ensure a consistent and exemplary service experience for all owners and passengers. Demonstrates strong conflict resolution skills to address challenges professionally.

Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance:

  • Maintains all required regulatory and company training certifications and ensures current recency of experience.
  • Complies fully with the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program and reports any safety concerns or non-compliance issues through the designated appropriate channels.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Prior experience in corporate or business aviation is highly preferred.
  • Possession of an FAA Type rating specific to the applicable fleet (Global 6000).
  • Ability to perform all essential functions of the position.

Minimum Flight Time Requirements:

  • Total flight time: 3,500 hours
  • Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1,500 hours
  • Pilot in Command (PIC): 2,000 hours
  • PIC Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 500 hours
  • Instrument: 300 hours
  • Jet: 500 hours

Compensation

The base salary range for this Pilot in Command position, operating a Large/Heavy/Premium cabin aircraft, is $160,000 - $425,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
