Position Summary: Captain, Global 6000/7500

Jet Aviation is seeking an exemplary Pilot in Command for its Global 6000/7500 aircraft. Reporting to the Lead Captain, the Pilot in Command holds ultimate responsibility for the safe, secure, and efficient conduct of all assigned flight operations, with an unwavering emphasis on safety and quality. The Captain will exercise full authority as Pilot in Command for all flights, serving as the final authority for the safe execution of each mission.

Minimum Requirements

  • Possession of an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with the appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • A minimum of 3500 hours Total Fixed Wing flight time.
  • A minimum of 1500 hours Multi-Engine Land flight time.
  • A minimum of 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) flight time.
  • A minimum of 1500 hours Turbojet flight time.
  • A minimum of 1500 hours Turbine flight time.
  • A minimum of 100 hours Night flight time.
  • A minimum of 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument flight time.
  • At least 5 years of professional aviation experience.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and adapt to dynamic operational demands.
  • Willingness and ability to travel worldwide extensively, without any restrictions.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.

Main Responsibilities

The Captain's primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Safely operating the aircraft, making critical decisions regarding departure times, routes, and flight cancellations based on weather or other conditions.
  • Ensuring complete compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures for every flight.
  • Implementing necessary changes as dictated by en route conditions to ensure flights proceed under appropriate company policies, procedures, and rules.
  • Conducting flights in a safe and prudent manner, adhering to the highest industry and company standards.
  • Accurately completing all required trip paperwork in accordance with current procedures.
  • Establishing a thorough and complete understanding with the Second in Command regarding all aspects of flight.
  • Recording all aircraft discrepancies on the discrepancy log as they occur and reporting them immediately to the Director of Maintenance or designee. The Captain, as directed, will determine if an inoperative item can be deferred per the approved Minimum Equipment List (MEL) or requires immediate repair.
  • Verifying that the flight crew reports for duty in proper attire and is mentally and physically fit for duty.
  • Maintaining comprehensive working knowledge of all aircraft systems authorized for operation, including emergency systems and procedures.
  • Securing the aircraft after each flight, including arranging hangar storage if deemed necessary or instructed by company management.
  • Obtaining the most current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMs from authorized agencies such as an FAA flight service station.
  • Filing, or ensuring the filing of, a flight plan with the FAA or an ICAO state ATC facility.
  • Analyzing area, en route, and terminal charts for the airport of intended landing and designated alternates.
  • Performing the functions of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) under the provisions of the applicable standard security program (Twelve-Five or Private Charter).
  • Conducting required passenger safety briefings or delegating this duty to the Second in Command.
  • Imparting essential knowledge and skills to the Second in Command to prepare them for assuming Pilot in Command duties during emergencies or for future upgrade opportunities.
  • Completing and transmitting the leg manifest to operations control prior to each departure.
  • Completing and transmitting the End of Day (EOD) report to operations control upon completion of each flight day.
  • Actively supporting the open sharing of information on all safety issues and promptly reporting all safety hazards and concerns.
  • Immediately reporting any hazardous action, conduct, or event to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
  • Delegation of duties is permissible, but the responsibility for those duties remains with the Pilot in Command.
  • Performing other duties as required to support flight operations.
  • Representing Jet Aviation as a cohesive entity, both internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described are representative of those an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to work comfortably in both heavy maintenance environments and upscale customer areas. The noise level is typically moderate, with occasional high volume during aircraft arrivals/departures. Exposure to vibration is frequent, and occasional fuel fumes may be present. The employee must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. The hangar environment may experience extreme temperatures during different seasons. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
