Position Summary:
Jet Aviation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pilot in Command for the Global 6000 aircraft. This role reports to the Lead Captain and is responsible for the safe and efficient conduct of flight assignments, with a paramount emphasis on safety, security, and quality. The Pilot in Command exercises final authority over all assigned flights and ensures their safe execution.
Main Responsibilities:
- Safely operate the aircraft, determining departure times, routes, and making decisions regarding flight continuation or cancellation based on conditions.
- Ensure all flights adhere strictly to federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Implement necessary changes en route to ensure the flight continues under appropriate company guidelines.
- Conduct flights in a safe and prudent manner, upholding industry and company standards.
- Accurately complete all required trip paperwork.
- Maintain thorough communication and understanding with the Second in Command regarding all flight aspects.
- Record aircraft discrepancies, report them promptly, and determine deferral or repair actions based on the MEL and direction from the Director of Maintenance or designee.
- Ensure flight crew reports for duty in proper attire and are mentally and physically fit.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all authorized aircraft systems, including emergency procedures.
- Secure the aircraft post-flight, arranging hangar storage when necessary or instructed.
- Obtain current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMS from authorized sources.
- File flight plans with the FAA or appropriate ICAO ATC facility.
- Analyze area, en route, and terminal charts for destinations and alternates.
- Perform duties as the Inflight Security Coordinator (ISC) as required by applicable security programs.
- Conduct or assign passenger safety briefings.
- Impart knowledge and skills to the Second in Command to prepare them for assuming Pilot in Command duties in emergencies or upon upgrade.
- Complete and transmit the leg manifest and End of Day (EOD) report.
- Actively support the open sharing of safety information and report all safety hazards and concerns.
- Report any hazardous actions, conduct, or events immediately to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- Delegate duties as appropriate but retain ultimate responsibility.
- Represent Jet Aviation internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.
- Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- 4000 hours Total Fixed Wing flight time.
- 1500 hours Multi-Engine Land flight time.
- 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command flight time.
- 1500 hours Turbojet flight time.
- 1500 hours Turbine flight time.
- 100 hours Night flight time.
- 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument flight time.
- Minimum of 5 years of aviation experience.
- Ability to work flexible schedules.
- Willingness and ability to travel worldwide extensively without restriction.
- Valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this job. This role requires using hands and fingers, handling, feeling, or reaching. Frequent standing, walking, or sitting is necessary. Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be required. The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds above the head is essential. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
The work environment is representative of conditions encountered while performing the essential functions of this job. The role involves working in both a heavy maintenance environment and upscale customer areas. Noise levels are typically moderate but can be high during aircraft arrivals/departures. Frequent exposure to vibration occurs. Occasional fuel fumes may be present. The employee must be prepared to work in all weather conditions, including extreme hot and cold temperatures within the hangar environment during different seasons.
