Global 6000 Lead Pilot in Command (PIC)
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company and a subsidiary of NetJets, seeks a qualified Lead Pilot in Command (PIC) for a Global 6000 aircraft based in Broomfield, CO. EJM has been a leading provider of aircraft management and worldwide jet charter services since 1977, operating with unwavering commitment to safety, service, and integrity.
This position is part of a three-pilot team, supported by a dedicated Maintenance Technician, operating under both Part 91 and Part 135 regulations.
The Lead PIC serves as a peer leader within a designated flight department, emphasizing effective crew resource management, superior client service, and the diligent completion of flight department administrative duties. This role involves active participation in the flight schedule while adhering to all PIC responsibilities and expectations. The Lead PIC maintains frequent communication with the EJM Regional Chief Pilot and actively fosters team engagement.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Leads Flight Department Success: Manages critical client relationships while balancing client needs with EJM objectives. Proactively communicates to address current and potential issues or opportunities. Collaborates closely with assigned maintenance personnel to ensure compliance with all aircraft maintenance events (scheduled and unscheduled) and routine tasks. Completes additional duties related to aircraft ownership/account management, such as invoice reviews, auditing, vendor relations, charter approvals, and crew scheduling. Supports flight department crew members, ensuring understanding of expectations, motivating team members to achieve flight department goals, and representing the EJM brand. Reports concerns or issues to the Regional Chief Pilot. Manages flight department administration, including supplies, subscriptions, and crew schedules.
- Ensures Safe Flight Operations: Verifies crewing and trip assignments comply with company and regulatory requirements. Completes flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks. Leads briefings using Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) methodology to mitigate operational risks. Complies with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates with company personnel. Acts as the Ground Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator. Completes all pre-flight tasks to ensure aircraft mission readiness and accurately records discrepancies. Monitors and manages aircraft ground servicing (fueling, oil, oxygen) in accordance with SOPs. Delivers comprehensive passenger briefings and accommodates special needs. Utilizes Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) for clear and timely communication during all operational phases.
- Delivers Exceptional Service: Provides excellent service to owners and passengers, identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM experience. Investigates and resolves service deviations. Collaborates with crew members and internal partners to ensure consistent service delivery and constructively resolves conflicts.
- Maintains Proficiency and Compliance: Maintains regulatory and company-required training and recency of experience. Complies with the company's Safety Management System (SMS) and reports safety concerns. Ensures all crewmembers remain qualified to perform their assigned duties and comply with company policies, participating in audits as necessary.
Certifications and Licenses:
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements:
- Prior experience in corporate/business aviation is preferred.
- FAA Type rating in applicable fleet is required.
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions of the position.
- Minimum Time Requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
Base Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $315,000 – $320,000.
