Position Summary
Executive Jet Management is seeking a qualified Lead Pilot in Command for a Global 6000 aircraft based in Broomfield, Colorado (BJC). This is a dedicated three-pilot account, supported by a dedicated Maintenance Technician, operating under both Part 91 and Part 135 regulations. The Lead Pilot in Command serves as a peer-leader for the assigned flight department, emphasizing effective crew resource management, exceptional client service, and efficient completion of administrative duties. The Lead PIC actively participates in the flight schedule while fulfilling all standard Pilot in Command responsibilities and expectations. This role involves frequent communication with the EJM Regional Chief Pilot and plays a key part in fostering team engagement.
Key Responsibilities
The Lead Pilot in Command is entrusted with leading the flight department's success by:
- Managing crucial client relationships, effectively balancing client needs with company requirements.
- Proactively communicating to address potential issues or opportunities.
- Collaborating closely with maintenance personnel to ensure compliance with all scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance events and routine tasks such as database updates, audits, and checklists.
- Handling aircraft owner/account-specific duties, including invoice reviews, auditing, vendor relations, charter approvals, and crew scheduling, in accordance with defined expectations.
- Supporting flight department crew members, ensuring clear understanding of duties, motivating the team towards achieving flight department goals, and upholding the EJM brand standards.
- Reporting concerns or issues promptly to the Regional Chief Pilot.
- Managing flight department administrative matters such as ordering supplies (office and aircraft), handling subscriptions, and overseeing crew schedules and associated communications.
Ensuring the safe operation of flight for the designated flight department by:
- Verifying that crewing and trip assignments adhere to company and regulatory requirements.
- Completing all necessary flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each assignment.
- Utilizing the Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead required briefings and mitigate operational risks.
- Complying with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinating with company personnel as required.
- Acting as the Ground Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator as defined by company policy.
- Completing all aircraft pre-flight tasks, including assessing maintenance status, to ensure the aircraft is mission-capable.
- Recording all aircraft discrepancies in accordance with company SOPs.
- Monitoring and overseeing all aircraft ground servicing items (e.g., fueling, oil, oxygen) to ensure they are accomplished in accordance with SOPs.
- Conducting passenger briefings in accordance with company policy and regulations.
- Delivering the highest level of customer service and accommodating any special passenger needs.
- Effectively utilizing Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) to ensure clear and timely communication with crew and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
Delivering an exceptional service experience by:
- Providing high-quality service to owners and passengers while identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience.
- Investigating and resolving service deviations in a timely manner.
- Collaborating with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to ensure a consistent service experience.
- Resolving conflict and challenges constructively.
Maintaining proficiency and compliance for the designated flight department by:
- Ensuring all crew members maintain required regulatory and company training and recency of experience.
- Complying with the company Safety Management System (SMS) program and reporting safety or non-compliance concerns through appropriate channels.
- Confirming all crew members remain qualified to act in their assigned capacity in accordance with regulations and company policy.
- Ensuring all crew members comply with company policies and verifying appropriate audits are in place.
Certifications and Licenses
FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate is required.
FAA Type rating in the applicable fleet (Global 6000) is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements (KSAOs)
- Prior experience in corporate/business aviation is preferred.
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions associated with the position.
- Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
- Total Flight Time: 3500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command (PIC): 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
Base Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $315,000 – $320,000.
