Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Safety First: Ensure the safety and comfort of passengers onboard the aircraft.
- Exceptional Customer Service: Provide attentive and personalized care to passengers, offering meals, beverages, and onboard announcements.
- Teamwork: Contribute to a positive and productive work environment with colleagues and customers.
- Leadership: Demonstrate effective leadership, direction, and assistance in both emergency and non-emergency situations.
- Problem Solving: Calmly resolve passenger situations during flight, including disorderly passengers and medical emergencies.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations by inspecting and operating aircraft cabin components, systems, and emergency equipment.
- Professionalism: Adhere to established procedures and performance standards without supervision.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current, valid U.S. or foreign passport valid for at least 12 months following the application date, with any necessary visas for travel between the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Bahamas.
- Excellent English communication skills for providing safety information and writing clear, detailed reports.
- Comfortable utilizing electronic devices for operating audio and video systems, collecting and tracking in-flight purchases, and performing other flight and training duties.
- Willingness to work varied shifts up to 16 hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to travel frequently and spend extended periods alone and without supervision.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Willingness to relocate to one of SkyWest's crew domiciles after successful completion of training: Atlanta, GA; Boise, ID; Chicago, IL; Colorado Springs, CO; Dallas/Fort Worth, TX; Denver, CO; Detroit, MI; Fresno, CA; Houston, TX; Los Angeles, CA; Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN; Palm Springs, CA; Phoenix, AZ; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT; San Diego, CA; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA; Tucson, AZ.
Physical and Other Requirements:
- Height and weight must be within specific aircraft dimensions for safety. Height must be between 5'0" and 6'0" without shoes.
- Physical ability to perform tasks requiring frequent walking, bending, reaching, opening emergency exits, closing aircraft doors, pushing and pulling beverage carts, and lifting and transporting items.
- Corrected vision should not exceed 20/40.
- Normal or corrected hearing range within 15-17kHz.
- Professional, neat, and clean overall appearance.
- Limited hair styles and colors are permitted.
- Single stud nose piercing 2mm or smaller allowed, with two piercings allowed per ear. Gauges must be plugged with clear or skin toned plugs and not exceed 1/2". Other facial, mouth, or tongue piercings are not permitted.
- Visible tattoos are permitted with limitations based on dimension and location. Tattoos that do not meet these guidelines must be covered by the uniform or with skin tone compatible tattoo makeup. Offensive tattoos must not be visible.
- Company issued uniform and compliant face mask/covering must be worn as required.
Flight Hours and Pay:
- After successful completion of Initial New Hire training, Flight Attendants are guaranteed 76 flight hours as a reserve, regardless of actual flight hours worked.
- Starting pay is $28.86 per flight hour, resulting in a gross monthly base compensation of $2,193.36 (76 flight hours x $28.86).
- Additionally, a per diem of $2.25 is paid for every hour on duty away from the domicile.
