A Glimpse into the Role
As a SkyWest Flight Attendant, your primary responsibility is ensuring the safety and comfort of all passengers onboard. You will be entrusted with providing exceptional customer service, including serving meals and beverages, while maintaining a professional and positive demeanor. Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers onboard the aircraft.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment for both colleagues and passengers.
- Efficiently prepare, serve, and replenish in-flight beverages, meals, and snacks, including the sale of onboard refreshments.
- Greet passengers, assist with carry-on baggage stowage, and deliver clear and concise onboard announcements.
- Provide effective leadership, direction, and assistance in both emergency and non-emergency situations.
- Demonstrate composure and professionalism in resolving passenger situations during flight, including addressing disorderly conduct and managing medical emergencies.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations by diligently inspecting and operating aircraft cabin components, systems, and emergency equipment, including escape slides, fire extinguishers, portable oxygen bottles, and automatic external defibrillators (AED).
- Adhere to established procedures and performance standards with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Possession of a current, valid U.S. or foreign passport with a minimum of 12 months validity remaining from the application date, along with any necessary visas for travel between the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Bahamas.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey safety information to passengers and compose clear, factual, and detailed reports on irregular, emergency, and security events.
- Proficiency in utilizing basic functions of electronic devices and PEDs to operate audio and video systems, process in-flight purchases, and perform other flight and training duties.
- Willingness to work variable shifts up to 16 hours, encompassing nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to travel frequently and comfortably spend extended periods alone and unsupervised.
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
- Willingness to relocate to one of SkyWest's crew domiciles upon successful completion of SkyWest InFlight Training.

Physical Requirements
- Height and weight must comply with safety regulations for aircraft operation, including the ability to sit in the jump seat, fasten the harness, navigate the cabin aisle, and operate emergency exits. For safety reasons, height should be between 5'0" and 6'0" without shoes.
- Must be physically capable of performing tasks requiring frequent walking, bending below ankle level, reaching above shoulder level, opening emergency exits, closing aircraft doors weighing up to 45 pounds, pushing and pulling beverage carts weighing up to 250 pounds, and lifting, storing, transporting, and reaching for items, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Corrected vision should not exceed 20/40.
- Normal or corrected hearing range within 15-17kHz.
Appearance Standards
- Maintain a professional, neat, and clean appearance.
- Adhere to guidelines regarding hairstyles and colors.
- Limited piercings allowed (single stud nose piercing 2mm or smaller, two earrings per ear with clear or skin-toned plugs not exceeding 1/2").
- Visible tattoos may be permitted with limitations on size and location. Non-compliant tattoos must be covered by the uniform or skin-tone tattoo makeup.
- A company-issued uniform and compliant face mask/covering must be worn as required.
Compensation and Benefits
- Flight Hours: Upon successful completion of initial training phases, new Flight Attendants are guaranteed 76 flight hours as a reserve, with compensation provided for the full 76 hours.
- Pay: Starting pay is $28.86 per flight hour, resulting in a base compensation of $2,193.36 gross per month (based on 76 flight hours). This does not include per diem boarding pay or any flight hours exceeding the monthly guarantee.
- Per Diem: An additional $2.25 per diem is provided for every hour on duty away from your domicile.
