Primary Responsibilities:
The Flight Attendant's primary responsibility is ensuring passenger safety and comfort throughout the flight. This includes providing attentive and exceptional customer service, serving meals and beverages, and effectively managing onboard situations. Additional duties encompass:
- Ensuring passenger safety and comfort.
- Contributing to a positive work environment for both colleagues and passengers.
- Efficiently preparing, serving, and restocking in-flight refreshments and sales items.
- Greeting passengers, assisting with carry-on luggage, and making onboard announcements.
- Providing effective leadership and assistance during emergencies and non-emergency situations.
- Calmly resolving passenger issues, including those involving disruptive behavior or medical emergencies.
- Maintaining compliance with safety regulations through inspection and safe operation of aircraft cabin components, systems, and emergency equipment (e.g., escape slides, fire extinguishers, oxygen bottles, AEDs).
- Adhering to established procedures and performance standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid U.S. or foreign passport with at least 12 months validity beyond application date, plus any necessary visas for travel between the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and the Bahamas (prior to training commencement).
- Excellent English communication skills for safety briefings and report writing.
- Proficiency in using electronic devices for audio/video systems operation, in-flight sales tracking, and other flight-related tasks.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts up to 16 hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to travel frequently and work independently.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Willingness to relocate to one of the SkyWest crew domiciles following successful completion of training: (List of domiciles would go here)
Physical and Appearance Requirements:
- Height between 5'0" and 6'0" (without shoes) to ensure safe operation of aircraft equipment.
- Physical ability to perform duties requiring frequent walking, bending, reaching, lifting (up to 45 lbs), pushing/pulling (up to 250 lbs), and accessing emergency exits.
- Corrected vision no worse than 20/40.
- Normal or corrected hearing within a 15-17kHz range.
- Professional, neat, and clean appearance; adherence to company uniform and face mask policy. Specific restrictions apply to hairstyles, hair color, and visible tattoos and piercings. Details are available upon application.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Starting pay: $28.86 per flight hour. New hires are guaranteed 76 flight hours as a reserve, totaling $2,193.36 gross monthly pay (excluding per diem, boarding pay, and additional flight hours).
- Per diem: $2.25 per hour while on duty away from domicile.
