Inflight Training Instructor
A leading aviation company seeks a dedicated and knowledgeable Inflight Training Instructor to join its team in Carmel, IN. This full-time position plays a crucial role in facilitating approved Inflight training programs, ensuring trainees meet strict guidelines and successfully complete all required course materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitates published and approved curriculum, including oral and written examinations, to effectively train Flight Attendants.
- Completes, submits, and meticulously maintains all associated paperwork for training events.
- Contributes to the development and ongoing maintenance of training curriculum.
- Actively participates in internal and external audits, including those conducted by the FAA, TSA, IOSA, and DOD.
- Attends all scheduled Instructor standardization meetings and briefings.
- Maintains Flight Attendant qualifications by successfully completing all required company training programs.
- Participates in annual Flight Attendant recurrent and Instructor recurrent training to uphold necessary qualifications.
- Champions the Company’s core values and culture within the training environment.
- Provides leadership, direction, motivation, and supervision to trainees.
- Appraises trainee performance, delivers constructive feedback, implements corrective actions when necessary, and thoroughly documents trainee development.
- Offers recommendations regarding trainee effectiveness and potential employment status.
- Undertakes other assigned duties or special projects as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) combined with at least one year of experience in aviation, education, or training.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Possesses polished and professional interpersonal skills, maintaining a positive attitude and a customer-oriented mindset.
- Capable of managing interruptions effectively and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An Associate's degree or higher with a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
- Prior public speaking or instructor experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Must successfully pass an FAA-required 10-year work history review, criminal background check, and fingerprinting.
- Required to possess and maintain a valid U.S. passport or foreign passport allowing travel in and out of the United States.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Willingness to submit to and pass all FAA and Company mandated random drug and alcohol tests is essential.

- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex technical procedures, manuals, and governmental regulations.
- Proficiency in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
- Strong ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees and trainees.

- Capable of interpreting various instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats.

Physical Demands:
- Must possess sufficient physical strength to reach and operate all emergency equipment and exits, requiring movements and force up to 70 pounds.
- Capable of lifting objects above shoulders weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Able to push and pull moveable carts weighing in excess of 250 pounds.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, including during aircraft turbulence.
- Must be able to stoop, crouch, squat, climb, and kneel.
- Able to see clearly at 20 feet or more with corrective lenses or contacts.
- Able to hear clearly verbal communications in person and over aircraft communication systems amidst ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
- Must be able to sit in an assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without modification.
- Must be able to move about the aircraft and perform all required functions freely, effectively, and quickly within a confined environment.
Work Environment & Travel:
- Willingness and ability to work a varied schedule to meet operational needs.
- Requires travel up to 25% of the time, which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight stays.
