Overview
Cirrus Aircraft, a global leader in personal aviation, is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Flight Instructor to join its premier Cirrus Services Center in Orlando, FL. This pivotal role involves delivering industry-leading, learner-centric flight training to discerning Cirrus customers in iconic Cirrus SR model aircraft. The Flight Instructor operates within a structured syllabus utilizing proprietary course materials designed to optimize the learning process. This position reports directly to the Flight Operations Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivers exceptional, professional, and learner-centric flight and ground instruction in accordance with Cirrus policy, procedure documents, and program guidance.
- Ensures the highest standards of safety are maintained by adhering to all established industry and Cirrus safety procedures and policies, making timely and accurate decisions regarding flight operations.
- Acts as Pilot in Command (PIC) for various corporate flight missions, including demonstration, repositioning, post-maintenance, ferry, and internal training flights, ensuring compliance with 14 CFR Part 91 regulations.
- Meticulously maintains and records all pilot training records, including detailed assessment of student performance across psychomotor, cognitive, and affective domains.
- Identifies opportunities to customize training events to cater to individual student needs and progression, providing recommendations for FAA written and practical tests.
- Conducts comprehensive pre-flight and post-flight inspections, manages aircraft fueling, oil, de-icing fluid, and maintains updated chart subscriptions.
- Continuously enhances subject matter mastery and stays abreast of the latest developments in the Cirrus Aircraft product line.
- Fosters strong communication with students, offering guidance and support both pre- and post-training.
- Contributes to the continuous improvement of training processes and safety management.
- Represents Cirrus Aircraft as a model aviator and flight instructor, embodying deep aircraft knowledge and professional demeanor.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of aviation principles, flight instruction methodologies, and Cirrus aircraft systems. Essential qualifications include:
- Current FAA Flight Instructor Certificate with Airplane Single Engine and Instrument Airplane ratings.
- Current FAA Pilot Certificate with Commercial Airplane Single Engine Land and Instrument Airplane ratings.
- Minimum of 750 hours of total dual instruction given, or 500 hours of dual instruction given in Cirrus aircraft.
- A current Second-Class Airman Medical Certificate or higher.
- Preferred Experience: Significant experience with IFR operations in congested airspace, mountain flying, extensive Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC), international flight operations, and night flying.
