Job Title: Helicopter Pilot (Instructor)

Overview

Amentum is seeking a professional Helicopter Pilot (Instructor) to provide flight instruction in the UH-72. Previous military aviation experience or specific UH-72 qualifications are not required. Amentum is a premier aviation education organization with over 30 years of experience, dedicated to training U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, and Allied partner nation students.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will teach, coach, and mentor student pilots, preparing them for careers as military aviators. The instructor is responsible for maintaining the organization’s rigorous safety standards while conducting flight instruction within the National Airspace System.

Minimum Pilot Qualifications

Possess an ICAO equivalent or FAA commercial pilot certificate and an ICAO equivalent or FAA flight instructor certificate with rotorcraft category, helicopter class, and instrument helicopter ratings, or be a graduate of a DOD rotary wing instructor pilot course.
Total Flight Time: 1,500 hours (as Pilot-in-Command or Second-in-Command per FAR 61.51, or PIC/PI per AR 95-1).
100 hours of hooded instrument, flight simulator instrument, or weather pilot time.
Documented experience instructing students in instrument flight training.
75 hours of night flying experience.
500 hours of instructor time.
Must hold a current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate prior to training.
Basic Warfighter Skills applicants: Must be Night Vision Goggle (NVG) qualified with 200 hours of NVG time.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Requirements and Terms

Applicants are subject to government approval and must adhere to the terms of a 12-month Employee Agreement.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly rate for this position is $55.85. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, internal equity, and market data.
