Helicopter Pilot (Instructor) – Fort Rucker, Alabama

Amentum is currently seeking a qualified Helicopter Pilot (Instructor) to join the team at Fort Rucker, Alabama. The selected candidate will provide professional instruction in the UH-72. Prior military aviation experience or specific UH-72 qualification is not required.

Role Overview

Instructors at Amentum are responsible for teaching, coaching, and mentoring student pilots, ensuring they are prepared for the complexities of modern military aviation while maintaining the highest standards of safety in a demanding training environment.

Minimum Pilot Qualifications

Possess an ICAO equivalent or FAA commercial pilot certificate and an ICAO equivalent or FAA flight instructor certificate with rotorcraft category, helicopter class, and instrument helicopter ratings on both certificates, OR graduation from a DOD rotary wing instructor pilot course.
Total Flight Time: 1,500 hours (as Pilot-in-Command or Second-in-Command).
100 hours of hooded instrument, flight simulator instrument, or weather pilot time.
Documented experience instructing students in instrument flight training.
75 hours of night flight time.
500 hours of instructor time.
Current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate required prior to commencement of training.
Basic Warfighter Skills: Certified Night Vision Goggle (NVG) qualified with 200 hours of NVG time.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation and Employment Terms

The hourly rate for this position is $55.85. Compensation is subject to variation based on experience, education, internal equity, and market data. Applicants are subject to Government approval and the terms of a 12-month Employee Agreement.
