Instructor Trainer - Civil Aviation Training

CAE is seeking an experienced Instructor Trainer to join the Civil Aviation Training team at Burgess Hill. This role is responsible for ensuring the consistent delivery and governance of Instructor Development Training (IDT) programs, maintaining alignment with global standards, regulatory obligations, and CAE training requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Civil Global IDT while applying global instructional standards across all activities.
  • Act as an Instructor Trainer, mentor, or coach, providing feedback and modeling best instructional practices.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of instructor-facing courseware in accordance with approved management processes, including creation, revision, and digital optimization.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Training Managers, and global leadership to support effective onboarding, resource utilization, and instructor training planning.
  • Monitor Academy performance metrics (OKRs, KPIs) to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for operational efficiency.
  • Promote global standardization through cross-center coordination and clear communication.

Qualifications and Education

  • Hold or have held an ICAO ATPL or CPL license.
  • Possess an FAA instructor certificate, a Part FCL instructor certificate issued by an EASA member state, or an equivalent 900(c) qualification related to the relevant flight training domain.
  • Multi-domain experience (e.g., BAT, CAT, FTO) is preferred to support diverse business units.

Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in delivering or managing instructor training within an ATO, AOC, or global training organization.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks, including EASA Part FCL/ORA and FAA Parts 61/135/142.
  • Expertise in adult learning principles, facilitation, and Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA/EBT).
  • Extensive experience delivering instructor-development programs (e.g., Teaching & Learning, CRM, briefing/debriefing principles).
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, and Word for online and virtual learning facilitation.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and interpret performance metrics.
  • Experience in developing courseware, including lesson plans and assessment tools, and overseeing lifecycle management.
