Standardization Instructor Pilot – Fort Rucker
Bell Textron Inc. is seeking a dedicated Standardization Instructor Pilot to join the Flight School Next team. This position is based in Ozark, AL, with required travel to the Bell Training Academy in Fort Worth, TX. The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping the future of aviation by providing expert training and standardization oversight for Bell 505 aircraft operations.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive "train-the-trainer" instruction regarding aircraft systems, planning considerations, and in-flight operations using classroom, simulator, and aircraft platforms.

Ensure standardization across all flight instructors, including the administration of initial flight evaluations, stage checkrides, and proficiency evaluations.

Collaborate on the development and updating of SOPs, training courseware, flight procedures, and Aircrew Training Manuals in coordination with government oversight.

Monitor flight safety trends and training area procedures, providing expert recommendations for corrective actions.

Perform maintenance check flight evaluations and maintenance check flights as necessary.

Maintain compliance with all applicable Civil and Military Aviation Authority requirements.

May serve as a collateral safety officer to support flight operations at Cairns, Shell, and Bell Ozark.

Work flexible shifts outside standard 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM hours as demanded by flight school operations.
Qualifications

Minimum of 8 years of helicopter aviation experience.

Commercial Rotorcraft license required.

Current CFI/CFII (AGI for ground instructors).

Minimum 2,000 hours total time in helicopters.

Minimum 1,000 hours as an instructor pilot.

No record of pilot’s license revocation by the FAA or other regulatory agencies.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Class 2 Medical Certificate.

Proven experience in accident/incident prevention, risk management, and CRM principles.

Strong communication and mentorship skills.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree.
-
5 years of Instructor Pilot experience.
-
ATP – Rotorcraft certification.
-
NVG experience.
-
500 hours of instrument experience.
-
Familiarity with Bell products and prior certifications for Bell model aircraft.

Prior experience instructing for other Civil Aviation Authorities and conducting FAA/EASA audits.
