Adjunct Instructor – Political Science (POSC 4701: US Foreign Policy)

Employment Status: Part-Time

Marquette University is seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor to join the Department of Political Science for the Fall 2026 term. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching POSC 4701: US Foreign Policy and contributing to the academic excellence of the undergraduate Political Science program.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver undergraduate coursework within the Political Science major.
  • Maintain full responsibility for the assigned course, including comprehensive syllabus preparation and curriculum development.
  • Perform all grading requirements for exams, research papers, and associated coursework.
  • Maintain a minimum of three office hours per week to support student academic success.
  • Contribute to the mission of Marquette University, a Jesuit, Catholic institution.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Master’s degree preferred, or substantial progress toward a terminal degree.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Earned Master’s degree.
  • Five years of teaching experience or other suitable professional experience.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
