Role Overview
The JTAC Instructor/Operator is responsible for the operation of Fire Support and Terminal Attack Control simulators, providing comprehensive instruction for Close Air Support (CAS) familiarization. This role involves planning, developing, scheduling, and synchronizing simulator training sessions. The Instructor/Operator will design realistic training scenarios aligned with operational objectives and advise on the integration of Live, Virtual, Constructive, Gaming (LVCG), and Synthetic Training Environment (STE) systems. The incumbent will also support the advancement and life-cycle management of JTAC and Forward Observer targeting devices.
Key Responsibilities

Provide Terminal Attack Control academic and practical instruction in accordance with USSOCOM 350-5 and the JTAC MOA.

Instruct on all facets of Fire Support, including TAC, Naval Gunfire, Call for Fire, AC-130, and Attack Aviation.

Maintain unit training documentation and synchronization in accordance with Designed Operational Capabilities Statements.

Research emerging operational tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) for integration into training curricula.

Attend industry conferences to remain current on hardware and software applications.

Maintain required qualifications and currency as mandated by the JTAC MOA.

Operate in diverse environments, including conventional and austere field locations, involving transport via aircraft, watercraft, or ground vehicles under various weather conditions.

Utilize standard office automation tools, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Required Qualifications

Secret Security Clearance with TS/SCI eligibility.

Prior certification as a Joint Terminal Attack Controller Instructor or Evaluator (JTAC-I/E) while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Operational JTAC experience within Special Operations Forces (SOF).

Proven experience in planning, coordinating, and employing lethal and non-lethal assets.

Technical proficiency with JTAC simulators, simulation software, and training aids.

Expertise in military air-ground communications systems.

Ability to travel up to 25% within the Continental United States.
Desired Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.

Training and operational experience with Modern Air Combat Environment (MACE).

Training and operational experience with Joint Terminal Control Training Rehearsal System (JTC TRS).

Training and operational experience with HAVIK Joint Fires Trainer.

Training and operational experience with Joint Fires Battlespace Simulations.
Compensation
The proposed salary range for this position is $66,400 – $139,600. Final compensation is determined based on factors including geographic location, federal contract labor categories, relevant experience, specific skills, certifications, and education.
