AAR is seeking a Chief Instructor / Flight Standardization Pilot to serve as the senior technical authority for pilot standardization at its Fort Rucker, Alabama location. This position will plan, organize, direct, and control all phases of flight operations, ensuring the highest levels of safety, regulatory compliance, and operational proficiency. The role encompasses both Operations and Maintenance standardization, providing unified oversight across flight, simulator, and academic environments.

About the Role

The Chief Instructor / Flight Standardization Pilot is responsible for leading and managing all pilot standardization programs, ensuring consistent application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), checklists, Crew Resource Management (CRM) practices, and operational procedures. This includes planning and directing all phases of flight operations to ensure standardized execution across both Operations and Maintenance activities. The position holder will serve as the head of the Standardization and Evaluation Board, maintaining flight SOPs aligned with industry, FAA, and military best practices. Responsibilities also include overseeing the development and control of operating manuals, collaborating with training teams to design and deliver effective training programs, and conducting pilot evaluations and assessments across various environments.
