Lockheed Martin, a global leader in aerospace and defense, is seeking a Fighter Operations Expert for a full-time position at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. This role focuses on providing advanced fighter training to pilots.
About the Role
The Fighter Operations Expert will deliver fourth, fifth, and future generation fighter training to pilots through academic instruction and simulator-based sessions, adhering to approved training syllabi. This position involves subject matter expertise in pilot training courseware, advising on tactical improvements, and developing future training concepts. Responsibilities include instructing pilots on flight procedures, preparing lesson plans, developing training materials, and evaluating student performance. The role also requires operating simulator devices using established fighter tactics and collaborating with the Lockheed Martin training team to achieve training objectives. Additional duties may include augmenting training at other sites and receiving training to operate generic devices with fighter tactics.
Requirements

A current active or previously held Top Secret level clearance with an investigation completed within the last 5 years.

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret/SCI access and relevant Special Access Program (SAP) / Special Access Requirement (SAR) access.

Possession of fourth-generation fighter experience within the last 6 years.

A minimum of 14 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or 12 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree, or equivalent education with 19 years of relevant experience.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including morning and evening shifts, to support customer requirements and training operations.

Must be a US Citizen for consideration due to security clearance requirements.
Qualifications

An active or current DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance is preferred.

Current experience working with DoD programs, specifically fifth-generation fighter experience and tactics, is desirable.

Experience with fifth-generation aircraft and systems is desired.

Current or previous experience as an Instructor Pilot or Flight Evaluator is preferred.

Graduate of the Weapons School is desirable.

Experience in the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) is preferred.
