CAE is seeking a skilled Flight Instructor to deliver specialized flight training in simulators and ground school environments. This role requires a commitment to excellence in pilot training and a desire to contribute to mission readiness for defense and civil aviation customers.
About the Role
The Flight Instructor is responsible for providing comprehensive flight and ground instruction, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, CAE's approved curriculum, and specific customer requirements. This position acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), guiding clients through their training programs. After an initial period of 1.5 years, designated instructors are expected to pursue qualification as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman, subject to business needs. A 2-year training commitment is mandatory for this role.
Responsibilities

Deliver simulator and/or classroom instruction for various aircraft types, facilitating the issuance of licenses, type ratings, internal training, certificates, and pilot qualifications.

Conduct thorough and professional pre and post-flight simulator briefings in accordance with CAE standards.

Perform administrative duties, including completing training records, recommending remedial training, and tracking personal instructional qualifications and activity.

Contribute as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the development of curricula and courseware when required.
Requirements

Possession of, or eligibility to obtain, an unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.

A minimum of one unrestricted Pilot-in-Command (PIC) Jet Type Rating.

Eligibility for a DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Must participate in CAE’s DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program.

Qualifications (Recommended)

Prior Part 142 Training Center Evaluator (TCE) experience.

Certified Flight Instructor - Instrument (CFII) and Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI) experience.

Experience flying business aircraft.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
This role involves potential domestic and international travel. Responsibilities include the physical ability to walk, climb stairs and ladders into simulator cockpits, and stoop, bend, and crawl around machinery. Instructors must be able to detect odors and sounds to identify potential issues with simulators and their environment. The work environment may include standard office settings, as well as areas with risks of electrical shock, extreme heat, airborne particles, and loud noises. Physical stamina is required to maintain composure during aerobatic flight profiles while wearing a parachute. Frequent minimal physical effort, such as sitting, standing, and walking, is expected. Extended working hours and schedule changes may occur based on management and business needs. The role may require extended periods of sitting and reviewing computer screens, as well as repetitive hand and wrist motions associated with typing.
