Job Title: Helicopter Pilot (Instructor)

Location: Fort Rucker, Alabama

Amentum is seeking a qualified Helicopter Pilot (Instructor) to join its world-class aviation education team. In this role, the successful candidate will provide comprehensive flight instruction in the UH-72. Please note that prior military aviation experience or specific UH-72 qualification is not required.

Role Overview

Amentum instructors are responsible for teaching, coaching, and mentoring student pilots, ensuring they are prepared for the complexities of modern military aviation. Safety is the cornerstone of the organization’s culture, which has facilitated over 2.5 million hours of flight instruction across 40,000 square miles of the National Airspace System.

Minimum Pilot Qualifications

  • Must possess an ICAO equivalent or FAA commercial pilot certificate, along with an ICAO equivalent or FAA flight instructor certificate (rotorcraft category, helicopter class, and instrument helicopter ratings on both certificates), or be a graduate of a DOD rotary wing instructor pilot course.
  • Total flight time: 1,500 hours (inclusive of pilot-in-command or second-in-command time per FAR 61.51, or PIC/PI time per AR 95-1).
  • Minimum of 100 hours of hooded instrument, flight simulator instrument, or weather pilot time.
  • Documented experience instructing students in instrument flight training.
  • Minimum of 75 hours of night flying experience.
  • Minimum of 500 hours of instructor time.
  • Must hold a current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate prior to the start of training.
  • Basic Warfighter Skills: Must be certified Night Vision Goggle (NVG) qualified with at least 200 hours of NVG time.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation and Terms

The hourly rate for this position is $55.85. Actual compensation is determined by factors including education, experience, skills, and applicable market data. Applicants are subject to Government approval and must adhere to the terms of a 12-month Employee Agreement.
