Position Summary
United Aviate Academy Graduates Only. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide Aviation Maintenance support and serve as a certificated flight instructor. The position requires a United Aviate Academy Graduate with experience as an Operations Data Analyst. This individual will support the Maintenance Department's operational execution, focusing on designing and creating key operational reporting and dashboards. This role is integral to establishing an industry-leading academy dedicated to developing pilots for United Airlines.
Job Description
Certificated Flight Instructor (CFI) Responsibilities
- Perform duties of a certificated flight instructor as authorized by the Federal Aviation Administration in accordance with the approved Training Course Outline.
- Ensure all students understand and practice all aspects of United Aviate Academy’s Aviation Safety Program.
- Provide flight, ground, and simulator training for student pilots in accordance with 14 CFR Parts 141 and 61, FAA regulations and publications, and United Aviate Academy’s policies and procedures.
- Maintain student training records, ensuring FAA ACS course standards and training requirements are met by each student for pilot training.
- Initiate stage check and End-of-Course requests for assigned students.
- Ensure timely course completion for all assigned flight students, including required paperwork.
- Monitor the maintenance condition of training aircraft and report any inoperative or questionable items to United Aviate Academy maintenance personnel.
Initial Duties/Responsibilities (Data Analyst)
- Report to the Director of Maintenance.
- Provide Data Analyst support until all assigned tasks are complete, not to exceed 120 days.
- Complete essential administrative tasks to maintain files and records.
- Collaborate with team leads, managers, and department heads to understand departmental goals and operational needs.
- Identify issues within the admissions process and take appropriate action to escalate and resolve them.
- Support additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Future Duties/Responsibilities (CFI)
- Report to the Chief Pilot.
- Maintain student training records in accordance with 14 CFR Part 141 and United Aviate Academy policies.
- Uphold training standards as set forth by FAA regulations and United Aviate policies.
- Ensure course standards, training requirements, and objectives are met by all assigned students as required by the Training Course Outline.
- Report on student progress and accurately maintain and update all appropriate records.
- Recommend and develop curriculum and courseware improvements when appropriate.
- Maintain a safe, caring, dependable, and efficient culture with students, fellow instructors, and staff.
- Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
- Must be able to work full-time, including nights, weekends, and holiday schedules.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- United Aviate Academy Graduate (Required).
- Extensive understanding of 14 CFR, FSIMS 8900, and other regulations pertaining to aviation.
Certification Requirements
- FAA CFI, CFI-I.
- Medical Class 3.
- MEI preferred.
