Overview

United Aviate Academy invites applications for the position of Lead Specialist, Flight Operations. This critical role is responsible for the meticulous planning and execution of flight training schedules, expertly balancing the dynamic priorities of resource utilization with the imperative for student progress and development. The Specialist ensures operational efficiency while upholding the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance within a demanding aviation environment.

Key Responsibilities

Scheduling and Resource Management:

  • Develops and implements comprehensive asset schedules in strict adherence to allocation plans.
  • Maintains current knowledge of all relevant scheduling tools, systems, and technologies.
  • Ensures thorough understanding and compliance with applicable aviation regulations, contractual agreements, and operational policies and procedures impacting scheduling processes.

Flight Operations Dispatch and Coordination:

  • Oversees the daily execution of the flight training schedule, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Coordinates effectively with maintenance teams to verify aircraft airworthiness and availability.
  • Proactively identifies and resolves potential resource discrepancies, ensuring minimal disruption to training.
  • Provides essential guidance to students and instructors regarding required materials and pre-flight preparations.
  • Accurately documents and reports any issues affecting schedules, student/instructor performance, or resource availability.
  • Maintains comprehensive historical flight data and generates necessary reports for operations management.
  • Verifies the successful completion of each flight as assigned by the company, strictly adhering to designated schedules, routes of flight, and load manifests.
  • Collaborates effectively with team members to mitigate and resolve schedule and resource conflicts.

General Operations and Compliance:

  • Delivers exemplary customer service to all stakeholders.
  • Successfully passes a five-year felony background check as a condition of employment.
  • Undertakes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support flight operations.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience in a dynamic operational or scheduling environment is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word and Excel, is advantageous.

Education:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • An Associate degree is preferred, though not mandatory.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position necessitates the ability to perform all essential functions and physical requirements of the role. The work environment is situated within an airfield setting, which includes exposure to loud noise and flashing lights. The role occasionally requires moving items weighing up to 25 pounds across the office space.
