Flight Operations Support Specialist
An industry leading regional airline is seeking a Flight Operations Support Specialist to provide comprehensive support to Line Pilot Instructors, Line Check Airmen, and Proficiency Check Airmen. This role encompasses onboarding, training scheduling, training oversight and auditing, FAA coordination, monthly Instructor and Evaluator (IE) pay review and approvals, IE qualification management, and IE conference meeting scheduling, logistics, and facility coordination.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Flight Operations Support Specialist will be responsible for:
- Managing the application process for all Instructor/Evaluator (IE) applicants, including verifying regulatory qualifications, compiling data for review, soliciting departmental and line crew feedback, and administering virtual interviews.
- Coordinating monthly IE classes, including reserving meeting space and catering, ensuring training logistics for out-of-town IE candidates, managing facilities and IT access, and compiling and uploading FAA packages for new Check Airmen.
- Interfacing with the FAA for Check Airmen authorizations and approvals, and managing monthly Check Airmen surveillance reports.
- Tracking initial training for IE groups, ensuring regulatory required qualification events are completed, and updating sign-offs to release trainees in a timely manner.
- Auditing recurrent training events for IE groups to ensure requirements are met and regulatory compliance is maintained.
- Analyzing monthly training resource allocation and compiling schedule pulls and pre-awards based on resource needs.
- Managing Check Airmen schedule change approvals for drops, adds, and overtime, and updating CrewTrac for all schedule absences.
- Coordinating annual IE meetings, locations, and associated logistics.
- Auditing and suggesting corrections for IE pay submissions, comparing to initial, final, and CrewTrac schedules to ensure accuracy.
- Managing all monthly pay for Simulator Check Airmen, Line Pilot Instructors, and Line Check Airmen groups, and transmitting approved pay information to Crew Pay.
- Providing excellent and timely customer service to Check Airmen and Instructors, responding to questions with a positive and upbeat attitude.
- Managing Flight Operations logistics needs.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- At least one year of airline experience required.
- Prior experience in a training department preferred.
- Prior experience with CrewTrac preferred.
Regulatory Requirements:
- Able to pass an FAA-required 10-year work history review and criminal background and fingerprint checks.
- Possess and maintain a valid US passport or foreign passport.
- Authorized by law to work in the United States and able to travel in and out of the United States.
- Willing to submit to and able to pass FAA and Company-mandated random drug and alcohol tests.
Physical Demands:
- Able to climb, balance, stoop, or crouch up to 10% of the time.
- Able to sit for long periods of time.
- Capable of lifting or moving items weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Able to hear verbal communications in person, on the telephone, and over a headset.
Work Environment:
This position requires the ability to occasionally work non-traditional working hours, including weekends and holidays.
Travel Requirements:
This position may require occasional overnight travel.
